big shmooz
When it did , the jersey select screen. I looked at the uniform big and I could tell which teams were going to crash because they were not compressed. Not sure what caused them to uncompress? Is there a program where i could compress a big file anytime I wanted? That would help me tremendously, as that seems to be my biggest problem is stopping the uniform big to uncompress some teams. Ok, I figured out the problem (kinda) with mvpstudio causing the uniforms.big file to become corrupt. It seems that the updated version (final) was somehow changed & in fact it is buggy. I installed it & tried to install uniforms & my uniforms.big file also became corrupt after I had installed a few previews. I went ahead & put back in my old version & all is well. I do lose out that I have to now do the workaround I explained in my first post on page one, but at least the program works as far as not corrupting the uniforms.big file. Hence my advice if you want to use mvpstudio to install your uniforms is to install the older version of mvp studio & use your uniforms.big file plus a default models.big & then manually transfer as I explained in my first post. Homer
i concur. everything works fine for me that way too. but i was searching through the threads and found a post umachines posted about how to add a new uniform and i think it might be my answer to why i am not able to add a new uniform just using kraw's installer. apparently there's some hex editing that needs to be done. the unfortunate part is that the picture that describes what to do in that post is missing. hopefully he is able to re-post it. bigbully
I have no problems using Kraw's Installer Thingy to add unis...here's the key: For the uniforms.big file, you have to edit the index.fsh to add the appropriate unis and their letter. Very simple in fact.

I'm sure that'll help alot of people out

Very simple in fact. yeah i have edited it. it's weird cuz everything seems fine, but when i go in game, the portrait doesn't show up. so i've been using the method bigschmooz has described and it works flawlessly for me. but then again, as i mentioned, i think that i may have to do a little hex editing? maybe? not sure as i'm still waiting to see if umachines can locate that picture from his post. again, i have no problem replacing a uniform with kraw's installer, but using it to just install a uniform into an empty slot hasn't worked for me yet. Care to share. I actually like Kraws installer thingy alot. It's very simple to use. Would you be able to share a quick tutorial on how to add a new bmp to an index file. I'm sure that'll help alot of people out actually, as i've been alluding to...umachines has posted a quite thurough thread on it already. i don't have the link, otherwise i'd post it for you. it'll have to wait until i get home. i have it bookmarked at home. Yankee4Life
I'm about to leave...I'll do a tutorial when I get home I think I will wait for that because this is driving me nuts. I got some damn good uniforms I want to put in that mod that I had before and I can't do it. I have had it trying to do it. The trouble is, I was able to add one uniform with no problem via Mvp Studio. After the second one, *&^& IT. Damn frustrating.
bigbully
I'll use my 2007 Angels alts as an example... I wanted them to be compatible w/KC's unis. KC's unis included 9 uniforms (this was before he added the red alts). There was a uniform a,b,c,g,h,i,j,k and o. So I extracted the 000.fsh file from uniforms.big. Once extracted, right-click on 000.fsh and open w/nfshtool - this creates a "000" folder. In that folder there are bmps (the uni select bmps), alpha files for each bmp and an index.fsh file. Now, right click on the index.fsh file, open it w/notepad and it looks like this: NFSHTool generated file -- be very careful when editing M:MVP ModsKCKC 21000.fsh QFS SHPI 9 objects, tag G357 BUFSZ 1156584 NOGLOBPAL !PAD 8 4275792045525453 000a 0000.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0000-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000a%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000b 0001.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0001-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000b%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000c 0002.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0002-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000c%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000g 0003.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0003-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000g%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000h 0004.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0004-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000h%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000j 0005.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0005-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000j%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000i 0006.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0006-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000i%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000k 0007.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0007-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000k%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 000o 0008.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0008-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000o%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 #END Notice each bmp has lines of code, as well as the alpha's - example for uniform a: 000a 0000.BMP BMP 7D +2 128 128 {0 0 0 0} alpha 0000-a.BMP ETXT 69 64 16 {0 0 0 0} EAGL64%20metal%20bin%20attachment%20for%20runtime%20texture%20management%00%00%00%00%00%00 ETXT 70 000a%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 So our original file has 9 uniforms - according to this index file, uniforms 000 through 008. If I wanted to add another uniform, I'd add the above code just above "#END". Now where it says "000a 0000.BMP", I'd change it to "000d 0009.BMP" because the uniform will be in the "d" slot and it's the 9th total uniform. Two lines down from that, I'd change "alpha 0000-a.BMP" to "alpha 0009-a.BMP". On the last line I'd change "ETXT 70 000a%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00" to "ETXT 70 000d%00%00%00%00%00%00%00%00" Now at the top of the index code, change "SHPI 9 objects, tag G357" to "SHPI 10 objects, tag G357". Close the notepad and say yes to save. Back in the 000 folder....add you bitmap and rename it to 0009.BMP. Copy and paste the 000-a.BMP - then rename it to 009-a.BMP. After this, right click on the index.fsh file and say open w/nfshtool - this will "build" your 000.fsh file for you. Now, you'll also need to add a 000d.fsh file to your uniforms.big file. Extract 000a.fsh from uniforms big. Once extracted, open w/nfshtool. Open the index w/notepad - now open the 000a folder. In the 000a.folder, open the index file with notepad. Where it says "000a 0000.BIN", change this to "000d 0000.BIN". Also, where it says "BUFSZ 448" change this to BUFSZ 3448". Close and save the notepad file, right click and open index.fsh w/nfshtool - this repacks it. Now you have 000.fsh and 000d.fsh to import into uniforms.big w/Kraw's Installer Thingy
Homer
dang. i knew i was missing something. kept forgetting about that second fsh file for the uniforms.big file. how did i ever miss such an obvious thing as that? well that's one more time you've bailed me out! absolutely beautiful. i can finally uninstall mvpstudio. cocobee
Yeah, I'll get right on this. me too. Thanks fellas. Homer, I'd still like to see umachines thread if you wouldn't mind posting the link. Thanks
cocobee
Now, you'll also need to add a 000d.fsh file to your uniforms.big file. Extract 000a.fsh from uniforms big. Once extracted, open w/nfshtool. Open the index w/notepad - now open the 000a folder. In the 000a.folder, open the index file with notepad. Where it says "000a 0000.BIN", change this to "000d 0000.BIN". Also, where it says "BUFSZ 448" change this to BUFSZ 3448". Close and save the notepad file, right click and open index.fsh w/nfshtool - this repacks it. Now you have 000.fsh and 000d.fsh to import into uniforms.big w/Kraw's Installer Thingy After this step, do you still have to rename the fsh to it's proper letter? Or is nfshtool suppose to rename it for you?
bigbully
After this step, do you still have to rename the fsh to it's proper letter? Or is nfshtool suppose to rename it for you? It should create the file for you
cocobee
It should create the file for you Hmm, it didn't. But I renamed it manually and it still worked. Thanks man. Now I can uninstall Studio! Thanks again!
Homer
here's the thread i was referring to. http://www.mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=.../finish=15.html it might shed some light on everything, but this method that bigbully described is the way to go. but nfshtool will rename it for you if you tell it to. look at the second line of the index file. at the very end of that line is the name of the file. you can change this to whatever you want and nfshtool will name it that. but then again, for the uniforms, just ranaming will also work as you have found out. big shmooz
As I posted on page 2 of this thread yesterday, you can still use mvpstudio just fine as long as you do not upgrade to the final version. (which is the buggy version)
