2midnight27
I've downloaded serveral mods off this site, followed the install directions to a tee,and not a one of them is working..it's just like I didn't even download anything..the game is still "default". Does anyone anything I could be doing wrong?
redsox
Could you be a little more detailed in your posts? Provide the mod that you are trying to install and how you are installing it and provide us with any errors that you may have encountered.

thegoofinator
I have had a similar problem. I downloaded a Barry Bonds cyberface, then the program to extract, and so I thought I was ready...but I don't know where to put the extracted item. So I thought I'd download something else, something with instructions. Everything that I thought I could understand, however, didn't seem to be downloading. So I went with Patch #5. I saved it right in the c/Program Files/EA Sports/MVP thing. And I see no change to the game. So I tried Reset rosters. Didn't work. I've read many pages of support talk. It seems overwhelming, as though everything is easy, but none of it actually seems to be within reach. For instance, reference to readme files. Where are they? They aren't on the download page. I don't see how to read anything on what I downloaded. Where do I look? The Installer Thingy is mentioned several times, but I couldn't find it. All I know is I've spent months looking at items, figuring I'd start small, and I've spent four hours on this first test run and ended up with no changes in the actual game. Unless I accidentally created a new problem, which wouldn't surprise me. I know you guys have done tremendous work here, but I have no idea what to do to actually make any changes. I know the answer is simple, but I don't know what it is. How do I install any of this? (Yes, I've read several posts with titles like that) Why don't any of the download pages have that info on their detail pages? If any do, what are they, so I can try one? Thanks. Where do I look? 99.9% of all the mods on this site include a README file inside the downloaded mod. Also, you can usually find a "support" thread for a module discussion the various issues people are experencing with the mod. Ex: BoxScore Extractor and MVPSavreader are two that come to mind. thegoofinator
Where do I look for the Readme file? Whenever I've installed a videogame or downloaded a file for Microsoft upgrades they are obvious. I was specifically looking in this case, and didn't see it. I looked again, too. As for the forum link, I copied that link already. It seems designed for this sort of thing....but I thought MVP Edit was for making mods, not saving them, so I was lost right away. If it is for saving mods, does that mean I have to download the mod, download the extractor thing, download an installer thing, download the MVP edit thing and then make sure they are all downloaded in the right place? When you d/l a mod from this site, it will more than likely be a .rar file. You need a program like winrar to extract the contents of the file. Once extracted, you will see all the files in that particular download. The README file is nothing more than a text file with instructions on installing/using the mod. Open it up with notepad, Word, etc... That FAQ covers a multitude of things. It's for modders and end-users alike. elduque
I think a bit more of patience and real interest in getting the mod you really like to work could help too, being friendly, ok? don't take me as one of those readme file lost inside a rar/zip file. This site is fantastic and the modders as well, if this site wouldn't exist MVP 2005 will be already 12 feet under. Take your time to learn ... and ... appreciate other's time to do amazing stuff for you and me and the rest FOR FREE.
