TwentySeven
Who do you think had the best major league debut game ever? I'm going w/ Juan Marichal; at age 22, his first game was 9.0IP, 1H, 12SO, 1BB, 0ER, Win.

Hory
Not statistically obviously, but I'd have to say Jackie Robinson had the "best" major league debut.

philliesphan18
Though memorable, not the best, Kevin Kouzmanoff, 1st pitch he sees he hits a grand slam I think Chase Utley did the same thing too. But, I could be wrong.

ronmexico
Jose Reyes, because it was the start of the greatest baseball career ever. =) I guess Hermida, for that 1st pitch grand slam.
ChicagoCubs720
Ryan O'Malley last year: @Hou: W, 8 IP, 0 ER, 5 H, 2 K man that was sick, I remember I had been gone all that day and never even heard that the Cubs had called him up. I walk into a restaurant and ask them to change the channel to WGN, I see that Houston has no runs in the 7th, and I was wondering where this kid even came from. I believe they called him up from AA for that day.

JBaechtold
Hey, Cubs fans, have we forgotten Tuffy Rhodes and his 3 home runs in his first game in 1994? It was on opening day and I am pretty sure it was He didn't do much else in MLB, but he is called the greatest foreign player to play in Japan. He won 4 home run titles over there. He hit 360 homers in 10 years in Japan.

Snailman
Ted cox with the redsox in 1977 went 6-6 to begin his professional career. Not a bad debut (though it spanned two games). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Cox_(baseball_player)
Mezza76
I think Will Clark homered at debut... sign of things to come.
seanzarelli
Clippard had a pretty nice debut last night. I was kind of upset to see my Mets get baffled by a rookie. The only thing that might catch up to Clippard is his falling off to the different sides of the mound. Batters will soon pick up on it.
bushywhacker
Will Clark did homer in his debut...off Nolan Freakin Ryan in the Astrodome. I was there and remember thinking, "He gives up a homer to some nobody in their first MLB game...sheesh!". Little did I know.
Padres67
As a 12 year old I watched on tv Barry Bonds hit a grand slam against the dodgers in 1968. It was his third at bat in the majors. Doubt he used steroids to do it.
