Yeah we got to get it done. I want 'Sheed and the gang to beat up those Deng Bulls.

Ps. This is my first post in a while, I have been gone for quite some time, but I spruced up my avatar and sig who were getting older than Julio Franco. And 2muchclutch I'm glad you like the Pistons, but the Yankees, for a man in the Mitten, that's all I'm gonna say before a Yankee flame war starts in the NBA Playoff thread.

this is why i hate the nba. it's a joke. nothing beats march madness, but it's like stern doesn't even try. yeah nice rule. enforce it on the suns and ignore duncan doing the same dang thing. if a rule is a rule, i expect him suspended for it too. what a bunch of bs. dang what i would've paid to see the suns protest the game and not even take the floor. if they want the spurs to win it so bad, just give it to them. or better yet, on first possession for nash to just hand the ball to duncan then bend over or lie down and tell him "go ahead". i don't even like the suns but they sure got the royal job on this one.

I still think Phoenix can win it. Let's hope they come out tonight like they did last night.
Absolutely I think they are still in it. They were in the lead for some time last game, and now they have Amare back. If they can when tonight at San Antonio, I think they'll look good to win at home.

f a rule is a rule, i expect him suspended for it too.
The rule is if a scuffle is about to happen, or happens. But it's not Stern's fault, and he said if the owners want to look into it in the offseason, he'll be glad to change it because he thinks it needs to be changed as well.

David Stern is the best commish of the 4 major sports in the USA, but after Roger Goodell's latest moves I think he's going to be great for the NFL.

i know what he said about it, which i think just further irritates me. if you look at the intent of it, both occurences the players left the bench because they thought there was a scuffle or one was about to occur. the only difference was that with duncan the scuffle didn't occur. but he was there on the court because he thought it was going to be one. so if he's gonna be so strict on the rule, it should've been enforced. probably more bitter about it cuz it's the playoffs and it's rediculous to not have it settled on the court. but whatever. i just hope someone else besides the spurs go to the playoffs. i just really hate ginobli and his flopping. not that nash is any less guilty of it, but for some reason ginobli really irritates me with it. i hope the pistons crush them if they meet in the finals.

It may be a little too early for this, but I'm going to go with the Lebron James/Darth Vader theory. Lebron starts out as the "chosen one", and slowly as he takes his new status, he begins to move to the "dark side" (mailing it in, wanting to be a "global icon"), to the point where he'll eventually be holding out for as much money as possible, not care at all, and become a total jerk.

Maybe I'm going crazy here, but is it just me or does this guy not look like he's "The Next One"? Yeah, he's been in the league for a couple years, but he mails in games and kinda seems like he doesn't care at all. Michael Jordan didn't mail in games, Dwayne Wade sure as hell doesn't, and at least Melo doesn't mail in playoff games.

The times had something about this just the other day - since the amount of tall people in the world is so small, it gives an immesurable advantage to the teams who have those same tall people year in and year out: i.e., San Antonio, Detroit, etc.

Correction: Tall people with athetlic ability and good work habits (And don't get high and die from a cocaine overdose right after getting drafted).

There's a ton of tall people around...more shorter people, yes. But there isn't a lack of height. You need athletic ability to make it in basketball.

The Spurs really did play dirty yesterday, and lost in spite of it. I mean, they were pushing, shoving, stepping on shoes, faking fouls - seriously, I wasn't sure what their problem was. :?

This isn't exactly playoff news, but Kobe definitively wants to be traded out of Los Angeles. I guess he has a point that they didn't tell him about rebuilding. Also, I think it's BS that he had no role in Shaq leaving. At the very least he had influence in there.

Either way, this is going to hurt the Lakers. For their own sake, they better get a good return. What do you think they could get out of Kobe? Maybe they should send him to Boston for Pierce

Hes got a no-trade clause so he's probably not going to Boston. I'm sure he only wants to go to a contender. Chicago seems to have the best pieces available to trade.

The refs officiating the Pistons-Cavs last night were horrendous.

That's true, but what teams have the pieces to make a deal for Kobe? Boston could send Pierce, Jefferson, and maybe a young guy or a pick. Minnesota could send KG straight for Kobe. Chicago could send Gordon/Deng/Thomas for Kobe.

Personally, I think Kobe is screwed, he's really not the impact player that could turn a decent playoff team into a championship team like Shaq, a franchise center, could. There are shooting guards who can score and score, but they can't dominate like a center can.
