Ticaliano
The instability issues are finally taking their toll on me and I'm running out of ideas. Tonight, I did a fresh installation of Windows XP. I downloaded all of the Windows updates, grabbed all of the latest hardware drivers and decided to try my hand with MVP 07 one more time. This is the sequence in which I did my installation. 1. Installed MVP Baseball 2005 2. Installed official EA Sports patches 1 through 5. 3. Installed the MVP 07 Total Conversion Mod (selected KG's rosters). 4. Installed 07 Models.big FULL patch #2 5. Installed 07 Models.big Project (May Update - from EA Mods) 6. Installed KG's 5/4/2007 Roster update. 7. Installed KG's uniforms (u122a.fsh and u123a.fsh into models.big and installed f123a.fsh into uniforms.big) 8. Installed The Spungo's Fielding Gloves Mod v5 9. Installed Total MLB Uniform Pack v1.25 10. Installed Total Portraits 2007 Spring Training Edition 11. Installed Field Changer 2007 (v12) I also added the MLB on FOX overlay (Trues - MLB on FOX '06 for MVP 2005 v2.0) and FOX in-game sound file (MLB on Fox In-Game Audio Replacement v2.0) and KSM Data File 2007 V2 [Final Version]. So, I fire up an exhibition game between the Yankees and Indians. I play as the Indians at Jacob's Field and everything seems to be working fine. The new field textures are wonderful, the players all look great and the data file has some interesting camera angles to get acquainted with. I start playing. The first weird occurrence happens when I push the button (comparable to the PS2's "X" button) on my control pad to skip the walk up animations and cut scenes. Whenever I do this, right before the screen transitions back into the playing environment, the monitor quickly flashes a screen full of multicolored bars. That was the only anomaly I noticed throughout the first game. Next, I set up an exhibition between San Francisco and Kansas City. Right at the moment where the game begins to load up Kauffman Stadium -- CRASH. I re-launch the program, try it again, and guess what? CRASH. Now, I'm not sure if I screwed up on the sequence in which I should have installed everything or if the files being installed have simply been published in an unfinished state. Looking back, I'm pretty sure I followed the directions completely as stated and yet, it's back to the same old crashing routine for me. :yernuts:
AnthonyBurke
I never had this problem or seen any of your previous posts on this topic but I was wondering what kind of hardware you have and graphics card your using? Also, I don't think I installed any of the official patches unless they were included in the 07' Mod it's self. I simply installed MVP 05' installed the 07' mod installed different music and changed the titles and installed the updated rosters I also used MVP Edit and added my own picture in with my character Also I'm running Win Xp on a Compaq Presario with a Radeon 8500 series PCI graphics card Outside of that my only suggestion to you would be install everything one thing at a time go in and make sure the game does not crash in all modes, Exhibition, Owner, Dynasty, quick play If as you assure it works in each mode, you do another install of a mod and find a problem, then go from there and assume or try to work out what the mod was where the issue occurred Diagnose, diagnose, diagnose . . . Good Luck!
mvp23
This is probably a hardware problem. Possibly the video card that you are using. That`s all I can think of now.
Kccitystar
You have a display adapter problem, have you tried downloading ATI or NVIDIA's driver updates instead of using the Windows default drivers
Ticaliano
Fixed the "distorted looking bars" problem. Fixed the crash problem (it was a Windows XP security issue). Sorry to have ever doubted the modding gods. :)

Ticaliano
One thing I've noticed, and this is even true on default EA installations, is sometimes when you throw from 3rd to 1st (or Short to 1st), the animation while the camera pans across the field becomes very jerky. It only looks smooth once in a while. Is this a result of lousy programming? My system is pretty powerful, so I seriously doubt it would be anything due to underpowered hardware. We need to hook up for a little Red Sox/Yanks action online, Y4L! :rocklicker: I'll bite the bullet and play as the Sox. I'll even overlook starting that fat Hobbit, Kurt Schilling. One of the official EA patches are supposed to address this "stuttering issue" that some people have. There were five patches, I don't know what one addressed this problem. Ticaliano
Well, I installed all 5 of the EA patches before I installed the '07 Mod. I'm not sure if the '07 installation "undid" the work of the EA patches. Disabling V-Sync seems to have helped the problem a little bit at the expense of some minor screen "tearing." Yankee4Life
Well, I'm not too sure since I was one of the lucky ones that did not have this issue with the game. Maybe someone here will know why.
BashBrother
depending on your video card...try adjusting the anti-alising and anisotrphic filtering..thats what i did and it worked great..like i said..not sure what video card you have...good luck
jogar84
It helps not to have Vista either, I actually regret upgrading to it and not being able to run MVP as well as did on XP.
