redsox
Hey everyone, I was thinking of doing a fantasy baseball (High School) simulation using OOTP 5. Just wondering if anyone would be interested in joining. This is what I have thought of so far and I am most definitely open for any other ideas/thoughts about this. Ok here goes: - There would be 2 leagues and 2 divisions per league - Each division would have 4 teams (16 teams in total) - One member can control at the most one team - You would be given full control of your team - For players, I am planning on letting each one of you provide me a 25-man roster from your High School - All the minors will be filled with randomly generated players - The hitter ratings for your high school players will be based on batting average, doubles, triples, HR, drawing BBs, avoiding Ks - The pitcher ratings will be based on hits, doubles, HR, BBs, getting Ks, velocity, hit batters, wild pitches, balks I can go in detail (provide screenshots and such) and show how the ratings will be implemented for each player. We may not be able to fill each of the 16 teams. We may have to start of with say 2 teams per division and have a total of 8 teams. Anyway, I am looking forward to hearing from you guys. What do you think?
SESbb30
sounds good, but, how can we be sure that someone is lying about the stats? plus, schools in california, texas, and the southwestern states play alot more games than teams in kansas, we only played 18 games this year, and on baseball america, some of those teams played over 40 games. how would we deal with that? redsox
Well, I am not sure about all high-schools, but my high-school has a website where the stats for all the players are listed. That is one option. Another option would be to base the high-school team off of a A or AA team (using the player stats from those teams). In regards to the number of games - I am sure we can set a standard around 30/year. My high school usually plays around 32 games. Also, I forgot to mention this, though there maybe no need to, you don't have to have yourself in the game. You can just take control of your high school team. I am in college, so I won't be able to create myself in the game. I would just be the manager for my team.
