Dodger Stadium

I'm partially wondering because I don't know what zmod imports/exports, and whether or not it strips that information.

ZModeler will keep any vertice color information that the original .o files have. As a default, any new polygons created are given pure black (transparent in-game) as the color assignment. However, duplicating vertices retains the original's color values. I'm not sure if there's a place you can add or change that info in ZModeler, though.

One quick question about Dodger Stadium - are you going to work with the light/coloring of the individual sections at all? Structurally it is perfect, but it seems everything is a bit bright.

yeah everything is bright because its all set to vertex color of 0xFF7F7F7F which is a neutral gray. I'm working on the shading now. Unfortunately I have to use early version of Zmod or use Oedit to adjust the shading.

I'm partially wondering because I don't know what zmod imports/exports, and whether or not it strips that information. Also, did you take most of what EA had already done and augmented it, or did you start from scratch? I'm having a hard time determining which is which.

all the concrete under the 2d crowd was used as a guide. Al EA parts were either deleted or recreated from scratch. I figured early on that it was easier to make my own parts then work with someone else's.

I basically imported the original dodger stadium. Attached all their parts to one and used as a guide. I recreated all the parts and snapped everything to line up to the 2d crowd concrete. I think I did the outfield wall sort of like that.

In oiftool there is a setting to "retain" original data. this will keep the old parts with original vertex color. Anytime you edit part in Zmod 2 it will strip that info. To put it pack you have to edit the vertex xolor in Zmod 1 using oif plugin or edit it in Oedit.

WOW!!! Unbelievably good to have you back bro! I just tested beta 2 and it's visually stunning! Here a few notes:

I had the same problem that Hory posted with the large scoreboard, the right/left field (large) wall ad. The retired #'s showed up fine...what I'm referrencing is the grey on the wall - this showed up on the left field wall as well, and also the 1st/3rd base lines. No net behind the backstop but you've already mentioned that....images below:

At first I played at Antialiasing 4x and Anisotropic - 4x and it was a bit choppy. I bumped them both down to 2, played another game and was VERY smooth!

Thank you so much for all your hard work!!

and oh yeah...I DID have dust when I slid

Also forgot to mention, as you can see in the screen above, something wacky going on with the videoboard in left field. However, between innings the screen seemed to be fine.

ok the jumbotron is definitely a bug. yeah there are no animated ads yet as Hory mentioned. Im gonna tweak the graphics/crowd just a hair to use 4xAA. I just cant stand the jaggies. The dust is weird, sometimes I get dust sometimes I don't. But I know how to fix it

Big thanx to all the beta testers it definitely makes my testing easier.

to add more objects to your stadium did you add more vertices to the existing parts?

something like that yeah.

Object mode>Create>Surface>Grid, set to 1 column x 1 row

Then used the extrude command to make extra parts in edge mode.

Like for all the chairs I made the basic one chair, uv mapped it then just copied at pasted everything.

I used the tutorials on Zmod website

and this other one on this website http://zmodeler.freestarthost.com/

I uploaded my main file, though I don't think the textures are saved in it but you'll get a basic idea of how I went about things.

I write up a tutorial after I'm done.

I just ran the (newly named) previous version of Dodger Day and I got dust one time but not another. Tried a couple different stadiums and the same thing. I guess I never noticed before, but it seems to be a game thing and not the stadium file.

I have beta 2, it looks amazing on my PC, I don't have a problem with the retired numbers as well. The only thing that happened was during one of those cut shots of the dugout when they show a player getting pumped up on a close call or what not, most of his body was blocked off.
