sammysb Posted August 25, 2004 Share Posted August 25, 2004 Hi there, I just completed my 1st year in Dynasty mode and I can't understand how come so many players are retiring. I have about 40 players, some only 24, 25 and 26 years old. Is there anything I can do to prevent this. If this keeps up, I won't have any veterans (30 years and up) left after 3 or 4 seasons. I have never heard of that many guys retire all around those ages in anyones dynasty. I have one of my top 3 prospects suddenly retire after the 2004 season... it makes no sense to me. I even quit out of my Dynasty, and loaded it up again several times - and each time, he retires! I can't have him retire... there is 0% chance he would actually retire, and being one of my prime prospects, I want him around! This prospect, did you get a lot of e-mails saying he was upset or anything like that? and what does it say for why is he is retireing(age,personal reasons,injury)? What I might do is save the dynasty before it ends as a different name and then if anyone retires that I don't want to retire maybe I can go to the alternate saved dynasty and try playing with the settings and see if he still retires. Give him a couple of million to stay on or something. Has anyone tried anything like that? Yeah, that's what I did (had two saves), and tried several means of keeping him, and none worked until I used the mvp2k4-editor (from this site) and changed his scouting report level from 3 to 5 - and gave him a raise. A raise alone did not do the trick, I guess making him an uber-prospect made him think twice about retiring at 20. To the previous question - nope, no emails about this kid, and he had a great AA season. The reason was "personal". By the way, this new format ruined my avatar! Now I can't have a pseudo-transparent background with the alternating colors :?
