eaglesman Posted May 24, 2007 Share Posted May 24, 2007 I have tried every single thing I can think of to get Mvp07 to install after a reformat. Whenever I run the Mvp07 install I get two errors while it is processing the sound, but aside from that it appears to install normally. When it gets to extracting the sound .big files the extractor gets and error and closes. After the install finishes it is like the exe wasn't constructed, it just runs a command prompt .lnk file? then it does not run the game. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to install, installing Mvp05 first, cleaning my disk, everything aside from trying to find another Mvp disk. Does anyone know anything I can do? JohnnyK Posted May 28, 2007 Share Posted May 28, 2007 I'm having the exact same issue atm; this is after a reinstall because I screwed up my old install during installation of the latest rosters. I for my part do not use a no-cd crack. EDIT: I installed 07 over a fresh 05 install, over a patched 05 install and to a separate folder and have the above problem every time. JohnnyK Posted May 29, 2007 Share Posted May 29, 2007 Managed to make it work again The 07-installer somehow "forgets" to install quite a few core game files, so what I did is make a standard game install and patch it with official patch #5, then install 07 into a different folder, then copy the whole standard install folder over the 07 install folder without overwriting anything; this makes sure all essential files are present, and the game works again. JohnnyK Posted May 29, 2007 Share Posted May 29, 2007 Definitely missing is the whole Support folder (although I would assume this is not needed to run the game). Also missing were DrvMgt.dll and TP03Patcher.dll from the main MVP folder; not sure if those are from the core install or the official patch. What I forgot to write in my second post - I also had to copy the exe from the game disc to the install folder; the exe the 07-mod installs seems to be corrupt (command prompt opens and closes, then nothing).
