TC 7 .rar file

42 year old gamer here and New to the site and I must say that it looks awesome! I am a long time Madden fan and am just starting to get into the MVP Baseball. Of course the thought of playing with the classics is what has brought me here.

I am familiar with moddoing madden but this is a whole new "ball game" so to speak.

I did some searches and cannot seem to find the answer to my problem.

I have downloaded the TC7 .rar file and have mvpedit. How do I get this into the game so I can use the it. It appears that MVPedit only recognizes an .mbe file.

I think I am totally lost here. I don't want to make rosters etc.. just want to load this and be able to play the classics in dynasty mode.

I have a fresh install and am looking for some guidance to mod this correctly with what I need for a satisfying gaming experience. I of course will be a contributor in the future and am looking to make a significant donation to the site.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You don't need MVPedit to play that mod. You need to first extract the .rar file with a program called winrar. It can be found here: http://www.rarlab.com/

Once you extract the file to a folder, just click on the installer and let it do its thing.

This thread might clear some things up: http://www.mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=...l+classics.html

*Welcome to the site and enjoy the game.

The Total Classics are a separate mod (a total conversion mod) by itself. I believe you would need to have just the original game installed (along with the official patches, I believe 3 would suffice). After that, just use the installer present in TC 7 to install the game. The TC 7 is not an add-on mod so you will not be able to play with current up-to-date rosters and with the classics roster at the same time without modifying them. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the site. Feel free to post any other questions you may have on Total Classics. Your best bet may be to post them over at the Classics forum.

If you're a fan of the classics, you may be interested to know that there are also a number of classic season mods available. Each of these mods covers an individual classic season.

Right now, mods for the years 1961, 1967 and 1994 are available. Each mod contains rosters, portraits, faces, audio, music, uniforms, stadiums, proper season schedule, etc. that transport you back to that specific year.

I'm finishing up a 1978 season mod right now (I hope to release it within the next few weeks) and mods for the years 1964 and 1988 are being worked on by others.

It is a lot of work but usually, no one person does everything. For example, when I started working on the 1978 season mod back in late November, I solicited help from others I've gotten to know on this site.

I was able to get help from others on the portraits, audios, uniforms, stadiums, overlays, etc. and I was able to concentrate on those things that I knew how to do (rosters, in-game text, etc.). Along the way, I did learn some new skills (adding music, creating menu screens, stadiums select screens, swapping skies in stadiums, etc.) that will help me going forward.

In addition, I never really looked at it as work, but rather a labor of love, where I could fine tune things in the mod, to recreate a year that was near and dear to me. Plus, with the number of communications I've had with some of the guys on this site (PM's, e-mail, phone calls), I've definitely developed some real friendships.

From what I can see you guys have definitely got your stuff together here.

What I noticed right off the bat was the maturity level of the posts which is refreshing.

If I had to pick a season it would have to be 75 with the big red machine that I watched as a kid.

I think someone might have talked at one point about working on a '75 season mod. In the meantime, you'll be happy to know that the '75 Reds are in Total Classics 7. The '75 Red Sox are also in there, so you have the opportunity to replay the 1975 World Series.

Where exactly should I extract the TC7 exe file and then the TC7 installer. It really doesn't say except to mention that installation files do not go in the MVP 05 folder.

You can install it wherever you want. For example, extract the TC7 exe file to the same folder where you have the .rar file. Then when you run the .exe file, extract the installer files to a folder named something like "TC7_install". As long as you do this away from your MVP Baseball 2005 folder, you should be all set.

You can then run the installer and have it install Total Classics to your game folder.

I can't thank you enough for helping me out here. I have it all installed and I am impressed to say the least! I ran into a couple of bugs but with your help and some searches it is up and going.

Now to finish mapping this xbox 360 controller for windows and find some pro sliders to start out with and I will be all set.

This is addicting. Stayed up till after midnight playing 75 red sox and 75 reds.

I have been searching for the answer to an ingame problem but cannot fond the aswer.

When I try to play dynasty or manager mode I can only choose from teams in CLS1. How can I fix this to be able to choose from any of the teams in CLS 1,2,3, and 4?

I believe the total classics are mainly intended for exhibition play (Jim825 or anyone else, please correct me on this if I am wrong). One thing you could do in dynasty mode is to try TyWiggins team changer mod. For instance, if you want to play as a different team, you would just run his program and you would be given total control of that team (along with its minor league teams).

Also, this is a long and some what complicated process, but you could do something like the following.

You can re-arrange the team locations. What I mean is you could move a team from CLS 3 to say CLS 1 using MVPEdit and couple of other programs. MVPEdit will let you swap the rosters. You would then need to use LocLook to change the text and would then need to use a combination of EAGraph and NFSHTOOL to change the logos (not sure about this step though).

But all in all, it is a long process, but if it is something you would be interested in and have the time, I would be more than happy to provide you with as much information as I can (and know) about the process. Take care.

That does sound like a long process. I think I may do a search and look for the info and try to utilize the tywiggins team changer first and see how it works out before I try the other option.

I don't really want to play 30 or 120 seasons with the manager and dynasty modes. I just want to be able to play a complete season with any one of the classic teams in TC7. preferrably the 75 reds. Once I complete a season I would just simply start over again.
