Maestro23
Thanks I'll check it out. Is it real difficult? Well, you do more than point-and-click. PM some guys like Pirate and Sean-O. They do amazing work on their stadium mods. They can explain all that goes into modding a stadium. Good luck.
Mav3rek
modding a stadium is extremely difficult and time consuming. You could visually edit the stadiums in OEdit no problem, that's easy. But actually making the game recognize the new edits you made and making them playable is the almost impossible part. Obviously it's possible, but it's a huge pain, and is extremely hard. In order to make the game recognize where you moved the walls of the stadium around to, you have to edit a file named wall.dat. Wall.Dat is a file you would open with word, and it then has a list of every point in the stadium. In oedit you see these points as little red dots, called verticies. In wall.dat each these "points" is represented by a 3 number line. The three #'s represent where the point is on the x axis, y axis, and z axis. The numbers look something like this: 182.324252, 0.0135532, 45.78235. So, once you move a point in Oedit you then have to find it's corresponding point in wall.dat. Problem being that all the points in Oedit aren't in wall.dat. Only some of the points are actually there, not all of them. So sometimes you move a piece and go to look for it in wall.dat and it doesn't exist. Also the #'s in wall.dat don't match up exactly with the points you move in Oedit. They are usually close, but never match exactly. So sometimes a lot of guess work is involved. If I were you, I'd start out with trying to mod one of the minor league stadiums that have less points to deal with, just to make it easier on you. Good Luck! Sean O
Mav- You can't start with wall.dat when someone asks about modding stadiums, that's like hooking someone on baseball by describing the infield fly rule. Editing stadiums requires patience and dedication, but the results are incredible. Start with a stadium you know, take baby steps, and don't give up. If you get stuck, come back later. These are the main things you need to know.

And if you go into OEdit, your patience level really will need to be rather high. But the results make it worthwhile.
Mav3rek
Sorry, I'm just trying to make them aware of what they may encounter. Personally when I'm diving into something new I like to know exactly what I can expect, and I know that eventually they will have to wrestle with wall.dat and I just wanted to make them aware of all the stuff I didn't specifically know about when I started. I wasn't trying to discourage them from starting, just trying to let them know what to expect. sorry...
bigj7489
Here's a question - a mod I'd like to do involves just creating a relatively simple skyline in the background and changing the scoreboard design of an already existing stadium. I don't need to move any walls or anything big. Some ad replacement too. Basically not changing much of anything "playable." How difficult is that, and what's the best way to go about it? Is this something I could just do in EAGraph?
Pirate
Use my tutorial... First off find what graphic is the skyline, find where it appears in oedit and then modify the graphic using NFSHTool as is spelled out in the tutorial. Lastly using Oedit move it where is needed. Do the same with the scoreboard. Find the graphics change em and move them.
bigj7489
I'll certainly give it a shot. Thanks!
Pirate
If I can do it in my old age, then all you kids who know computers can do it.
Greg Putnam
In your old age?!?!? You're just barely a pup, and I mean that in a good way. I'm twice your age... But I digress. I was looking at some of your stadiums like three rivers and Atlanta Fulton County and riverfront and you had to base them on the Vet. Has anything changed to where you could go back and make them more realistic??? What I mean is, if you are a Braves, Reds, or Pirates fan, you know your home stadium doesn't resemble the vet other than it is round and enclosed. Mostly I am speaking about the upper deck and roof structures that need individualization. What do you think? Pleeeezzzz????
