HFLR
Well I have only caught 1 baseball in my life and it was here in Ciudad Obregon, a homerun by Kit Pellow in this winter. I wanted to know if anyone has catched any baseballs in a stadium.
RaptorQuiz
I caught a foul ball at Busch from McGwire in his 70-HR season (I've got a picture of him signing it at a later game)... The only fair-ball I've ever caught was a home run by Ron Gant (when he was a Cardinal) - I was sitting well into the upper deck @ Busch - it was a monster shot, and I was pretty young (like 15 or so)... but it was awesome. In 2005 I almost caught a Bill Hall (MIL Brewers) shot into the upper deck at old Busch, but I lost it in the scramble.
krawhitham
caught? or walked away with? I got a lot of balls a few years ago when the Reds sucked hard (sorta like this year) and no one was showing up to the games caught, just one a Larkin foul ball. He signed it later after the game (at riverfront stadium you could wait for the players to come out of the clubhouse after games)
el_jefe061
Never gotten one, but I remember I was 10 or 11 and Jay Payton caught a fly ball to end the inning (this is when he was still in Colorado) and he tossed it into the crowd. I jumped, but not high enough, and the drunk guys behind me caught it instead. Closest I've ever gotten.

I was too young to remember it (6 or 7-ish), but my dad has told me that I scooped up a ball (foul) that was rolling around and some "drunk guy" yanked it out of my glove and held it up like he was a conquering hero. My dad heckled the guy so bad (once again, according to my dad) for "stealing the ball from a little kid" that he got up and left. With the ball. lol. Oh well. I can't miss it if I can't remember it. Man, last weekend when the Marlins and the Devil Rays were playing, Hanley Ramirez lost his bat on a swing and it went to the stands. It didn't hit anybody, and a kid (had to be like 9-10 years old) got to it first and picked it up. Some jack *ss (I'd say late-20's, early 30's) in the row behind him grabbed it out of his hands and lifted it up with both hands like it was some f*cking trophy he won, and you could see the kid looking at him devestated. Well, Ramirez wanted the bat back instead of using a new one, so somebody from the groundscrew went to get the bat, and as a courtesy give away a bat nobody was using. But instead of giving it to the jack *ss, they gave the bat to the kid. The guy was obviously pissed, he had his hands out infront of him, palms to the sky, and you could tell he was saying "What the f*ck" and was so livid. The kid, along with his friend/brother/whoever he was with, were jumping up and down with joy for getting the bat. Happy ending that I wish happened more often. elduque
As my signature states I got the last ball El Duque threw in the Cuban Baseball League. I didn't catch it, was a kid, but, they sell them always at the stadium, that's their "job", they fool around -they enter for free- the whole game, running up and down, right to left, you know...kids.... so... when a ball it's hit, they "read it" and run a bunch to get it first, it's part of going to the game, to watch them doing it. When they got one, they rise the ball and look for "buyers" in the stands, I was lucky to be close enough from them, and got the last one for myself (no one knew it was going to be the last), El Duque sign it for me right from the field, near the dugout. I went out of the stadium, walking -as usual- to my home, then I heard: "Hey! ...which way are you going?" It Was El Duque! calling me from the window of the Industriales' team Bus! "He give me a lift in the team bus!" they were all there around me, He was speaking with me as if I was a part of the rest, I will never forget this moment in my whole life, thanks Castro, for not letting me or him buy a car ! Yankee4Life
I am out of town right now and I just logged in to see what's what in here. I caught three baseballs in one game and I did this on two different occasions Sound unbelieveable? I'd understand it if you thought so, but that's what happened to me. You can race against the other guy in the stadium for every ball hit into the stands.

Nice story elduque . It makes me remember when I went to the stadium in December of 2005 with my grandpa, the game was my hometown team (Yaquis) vs the culiacan tomateros (The best team that year with Jorge Cantu, Karim Garcia, Esteban Loaiza, Luis Ayala, and the Mexican WBC manager Paquin Estrada). I was wearing my Yaquis cap in the stadium and with a brand-new baseball in my pocket as always and then I see the Tomateros bus parking next to the stadium, I told my granpa "Hide my cap, I will try to get some autographs from the tomateros. He hidden my Yaquis cap and I ran to the bus, then told the Tomateros manager "Hi paquin I came from Culiacan to watch your guys play against the Yaquis", he smiled. Then I asked him to sign my ball and he told me "Ill do something better", he took the ball inside the bus and then told me "Come here man, all the team will sign it" I saw Loaiza, Cantu. Ayala was sleeping and Cantu woke him up throwing him some cold Gatorade in his face xD. All the team signed my ball, then we were walking off the bus and then Jorge Campillo (I think he plays in the Seattle farm system) gave me a bat. It wasn't his bat, It was from Adan Amezcua LOL! That was a great night.
