DENVER -- After the Padres giving the Rockies a fairly decent beating in front of their home crowd for a series opener, they'd really want revenge for this game. Taylor Buchholz did a good job, retiring the sides in 1-2-3 fashion for the first 3 innings. Despite Buchholz pitching a web, the Padres were the first to bite with a simple solo shot from Jose Cruz, but the Rockies weren't about to give it up and struck back in the bottom of the 7th with an RBI single from Holliday after a Todd Helton triple. Then in the bottom of the 8th, Heath Bell was brought in, and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits to give the Rockies a 3-1 lead. Brian Fuentes was brought into the top of the 9th inning and retired the Pads in a 1-2-3 fashion for his 6th save.

if you could be nice enough and DL it, I'd love that.... the reason I was talking so fast was because I didn't record enough like... dead time so I couldn't keep up, but that's something I'll fix next time... any other criticism ill take :p

Game 20 of 162 - @ Diamondbacks

Friars pay for delaying set up man

PostGame-Game20-ARZ.jpg

PostGameScoreboard-Game20-ARZ.jpg

PHOENIX -- The last time these teams met, they split the 2 game series. The Diamondbacks actually beat them to open the series which gave the Padres their first back-to-back losses. The Diamondbacks are coming into this game with a significant advantage as Webb is coming in with a 3-1, and Maddux is coming in at a 1-1. These 2 pitchers actually met on that Padre 7-4 loss, Would this be the same? It seemed so as the Diamondbacks were the first to strike with a solo shot from Chad Tracy. The game would be left without another run until the bottom of the 7th when the Diamondbacks loaded the bases with consecutive hits, and Maddux then hit Chris Young to score a run. Now the Diamondbacks with bases loaded failed to score again, Maddux struck out 2 and the last grounded into a fielders choice. The top of the 8th would see an excellent performance from an unlikely bat on the Padres side. Brian Giles and Branyan would get on base as Bard stepped up to the plate, and slammed a 3 run shot into the stands to put the Padres up 3-2. The Padres decided to send Maddux back out to finish the 8th instead of sending in Linebrink who had been warming up, and it came back to bite them. Maddux got 2 outs in the 8th inning, and was about to leave it with a win opportunity, but instead he hit Eric Byrnes and then gave up a home run to Orlando Hudson (3rd of season) to put the Diamondbacks up 4-3. The Diamondbacks sent out Brandon Medders to get the save (who only had 1 save, and that one being against the Padres) and he sent the Padres back to the dug out in a 1-2-3 fashion. The Padres are now 6-4 in their last 10 and the Diamondbacks are now on a 2 game win streak.

I forgot to add, great work on the highlight video man. That commentary guy wasn't too bad either.

What are you using to record? I been looking to add some video to my page.

I used Fraps - Lol and I was the commentary guy :p I didn't record enough like downtime though, so it went from play to play to play and I had to talk really fast or I wouldn't be able to fit it in :p

This is a real noob question, I know, but do you make your game recap images (like the ESPN News style one) using a program like Photoshop, or is there something integrated into the game that does that?

JoeRudi26 made it in photoshop

Great work, stEd. Keep it up, man. :)

*edit - Great work on the commentary too. Even though it seems you were rushed, it still was pretty decent.

Thanks JR - And rushed is an understatement, I didn't realize how short the scenes were and then I couldn't find a way to fit in all the talking :p

Not sure if you want to go through all of this or not, but it seems you have some talent here.

Import the clips into Windows Movie Maker (if you have it), and it will allow you to edit the clips. Slow them down a little, and even put in some 'Transistion Pieces' between the clips.

This would give you some much needed seconds allowing you to complete the commentary.

And just to add, when you save the finished clips you will have options on saving the 'size' of the file.

It's not really alot of work, you just have to find your way around the program a bit, and to be honest, it's extremely basic.

Just a thought, stEd.

Yeah, I use vegas video which is a little more advanced than movie maker (or it is for people who know what they're doing, i just kind of use it to put clips together) and yeah I think i know what youre talking about... and if you're talking about the file size being too big, I'll look into some other codecs to see if it looks good, it's hard getting 1280x1024 clips to look good with a low file size - thanks for the feedback JR

Gotcha. I'll have to check out Vegas Video, there's no doubt the quality of your vids are much better than Movie Maker's.

Set-Up Holds it; Gonzalez seals it

PostGame-Game21-ARZ.jpg

PostGameScoreboard-Game21-ARZ.jpg

PHOENIX -- The Padres were at a definite edge tonight having the ace Peavy come in at a 3-0, though run support would be vital for him to get his fourth win, would he get it? Things were not looking good for peavy as he took an early beating giving up a home run to Chris Young AND Randy Johnson in back-to-back fashion. The Padres were quick to answer with 2 solo shots from Mike Cameron and Adrian Gonzalez in the top of the 3rd. The Padres added another run in the 5th when the rookie Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a solo shot, his 2nd of the season, to put the Padres up 3-2. In the top of the 6th the Padres manufactured a run off 2 hits and a walk to put them up 4-2. Someone must've given Peavy a nice little talk as he didn't allow another run until the 8th where he gave up another solo shot to Stephen Drew, and when he walked the next batter, Bud Black didn't feel like making the same mistake he made the night before and brought in the set up man to lock it down, and he did so successfully. The Padres went into the top of the 9th holding onto a 4-3 lead, and things started off well with a single from Paul McAnulty who was replaced with a Pinch Runner (Terrmel Sledge) to get him into scoring position, and he did so successfully stealing second. Jose Cruz grounded out to the right side of the infield allowing Sledge to make it to 3rd. Mike Cameron was then intentionally walked to set up a double play ball, but things didn't go as planned as Kevin Kouzmanoff was walked, loading the bases. The Padre slugger, Adrian Gonzalez, then came up with the bases loaded with an 0-3 for the night, but he came through. After going down in the count 1-2, he allowed the count to get back to 3-2 and patience payed off as he drilled the next pitch deep into the right field stands to seal the Padres lead with a grand slam, making the score 8-3. The Diamondbacks were unable to get 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th, giving the Padres the win splitting the series 1-1.
