SAN DIEGO -- One word for Padre - Dodger games, AMAZING. In another SoCal classic, the Padres and the Dodgers would go till the very last pitch to decide the game. The game started off with Geoff Blum slamming a 2 out homer to put the Padres up early. Then, in the 2nd inning Brian Giles would hit a solo shot to put the Padres up 2-0. Everything was looking gravy, Padres were up 2-0 and Greg Maddux was looking good. Maddux was pitching a perfect game and a no hitter until it was broken up with 2 outs in the 5th inning in by Russell Martin. Again, things seem to spiral down when someone hits a batter. Maddux hit Pierre in the 7th and things started looking bad. 3 consecutive singles would follow the HBP and Wilson Betemit would reach base on an error. When the 7th inning was said and done, the Dodgers scored 3 runs off 3 hits. With the Dodgers up 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th an unlikely man would launch the tying run into the stands, Josh Bard. Cla Meredith was brought in to hold things down for Hoffman until the Padres could get ahead and would be flawless, allowing no hits in 2 inning pitches. In the bottom of the 9th with the score tied at 3-3 Khalil Greene launched a fast ball off the Metal Supply building to give the Padres a 4-3 win, and the series.

Congrats on the win. Man, how did that Walk-Off feel.

I'm not even gonna lie, I yelled, and my mom was mad at me for yelling at 6:30 in the morning LOL - Honestly, I love playing the dodgers, close games... I can't wait till I play the mets, they have the best record in baseball in my dynasty right now

Nice to see Meredith come back strong. Great win. :)

Yeah, lucky for him too, there's a certain someone down in AAA that would've taken his spot if he would've blown another one

Game 26 of 162 - @ Nationals

Peavy remains flawless

PostGame-Game26-WAS.jpg

PostGameScoreboard-Game26-WAS.jpg

SAN DIEGO -- Jake Peavy is coming in with a 4-0 record, and not looking to get his first loss anytime soon. Jake Peavy ran into a quick threat in the first inning when Ryan Zimmerman tripled, but there was already 2 outs and Hidalgo would ground out to end the inning. A double play in the second would get him out of that inning and a 1-2-3 inning in the third would wrap that up. Michael O'Connor was doing pretty good against a good Padre team, the Padres did not get their first hit until Khalil Greene homered in the 5th inning, and again, 1 hit was all it took to break it down. Josh Bard started off the 6th inning with single, followed by a sac bunt by Peavy. With first base open, O'Connor decided to walk Cruz to get Mike Cameron to ground into a double play, BAD idea. Mike Cameron decided to teach O'Connor a lesson and blasted a 3 run shot into the stands. With the Padres up 4-0, they decided to bring in Bell in the 7th to hold it down and he almost slipped up. Bell allowed 2 runs over 8 hits in 3 innings, but still came out with a 3 inning save, Hoffman's arm was feeling a bit funny so they decided to leave Bell in, though there have been rumors that the Padres are trying to get some teams interested in his pitching ability.

They are both the National League standings. Maybe it's time to raise the difficulty or sliders a little bit? Nice work with the Padres. I wish I could belt HRs with righties, then I would put them off the warehouse there. Just wait till the Phillies stop by to show you up.

oh damn i didnt even notice that, hold on ill edit it right now

and i dont like upping the difficulty - i dont seem to get realistic results with all star / mvp --- like they come out of no where in the 7th/8th inning to score like 15 runs, or i beat them by like 15 runs, but i mean... all of my games with this new datafile and sliders have been within a few runs so idk what to do ;[ ill just keep messing with sliders

idk, luckily though, it seems everytime i win, the dodgers win, everytime i lose, the dodgers lose :D but the Rockies are sneaking up, they've won 4 in a row so im glad i dont play them anytime soon cuz they seem to be hot right now

LeBlanc - pitcher of the month with a 7+ ERA? The computer sure does make some crazy announcements doesn't it?

Also, the background on the "Daily Friar Report" really looks good. It blends in nicely with everything else.
