MIAMI -- Who better to come in to avoid the sweep than the 5-0 Peavy, Right? In this game it would seem the Padres would have the upper-hand and avoid the sweep as they were facing an 0-2 Willis but they failed to come through again. Peavy ran into trouble in the first after giving up 3 singles, though only 1 run would come from that after a sacrifice from Josh Willingham. The Padres managed to tie the game up in the fourth with a Kouzmanoff solo shot. Peavy didn't run into any trouble until the 6th inning when the Marlins scored 2 runs off 3 hits and some overthrows. Things just kept getting worse for the Friars as the Marlins added 2 more in the 7th with a 2 run shot from Mike Jacobs and another run in the 8th, the Padres failed to get anything going giving them a 6-1 loss, and losing the series. The Padres now head over to Atlanta for a 3 game set. The Braves are currently 11-20 and 7.5 games behind their division, so this might be the time for the Padres to get some land in the standings back as they now sit tied with the Dodgers.

Nice win to bounce back from the Marlins defeat. You know, I am really liking the post-game report now.

BTW, your box score for the Braves match seems to be wrong - I don't think you updated the link.
