barnabyjones
My hope is that the modders in this forum will begin to communicate better amongst themselves. When having to use other mods in conjunction with one another you can often find yourself very confused. For a mod like MVP 07 and the rosters developed for it you can easily find yourself having to use 3-4 different mini mods and other various utilities. Often the readme files are poorly conceived and full of spelling and wording errors. It would be nice if there was better overall communication and one step by step guide to installing the major mods along with the mini mods and rosters. Plenty are having issues and I think it is time this happens.

barnabyjones
The other games I have helped mod have dealt with these issues by simply streamlining the installation instructions. Its obvious people are having issues and its also obvious the modders in general chalk that up to user ignorance, which is unfortunate. For myself I was able to install the mod a number of different times on different PC's but not without being confused, mostly by poor wording by people who apparently struggle with the English language. I simply think if your going to put in the time to make a community mod you might as well make sense in your instructions.
carter
You get what you pay for at times. I see that you joined this site earlier this month. I think it's premature for you to be judging the great modders of this site. If you choose to stick around, I suggest that you participate more in the forums. By doing so, I think you'll pick up a lot of information and tips and tricks that will make installing mods easier. Aside from that, if you ever run into problems installing a particular mod, I recommend searching the forums to see if there is a discussion about the mod in progress. This is a good place to learn more. If that fails you, try sending a PM to the modder with any questions you may have. Best of luck.

I simply think if your going to put in the time to make a community mod you might as well make sense in your instructions. 1) I don't know how much more streamlined you want things to get. Some mods come with an installation program to install the mod for you. 2) Please do not criticize people's use of the English language. English is not necessarily the first language of all of our modders. We host mods from people around the world. Please be respectful of their efforts. 3) Downloading mods is optional. If you don't think you can follow the instructions maybe you should not download the mod until you become more comfortable with the whole modding process. Since all of the members are at various levels of modding intelligence it could be difficult to write a readme to cater to everyone. I'm sorry but it's not fair for you to push back on the modders. There is a lot of information throughout the forums and if you are unsure about something you can be proactive and search out a solution. One of the great things about this community is that you'll always find someone willing to help out. 4) Lastly, if you have an issue with a specific readme, why don't you post your issues here so that we can get a better understanding of what you're talking about. RaptorQuiz
EDIT: This thread has been left here so people might be able to use it as an example of what NOT to do. If you have a concern about a mod, it is fair to ask about it, or even make suggestions. But by openly complaining, criticizing, and basically verbally trashing both the mods and the authors, one will likely find very little help/support in learning how to use them effectively. In the future, pose issues like this in the form of a question, not the form of a rude complaint. Thanks!
