Batting order errors from MVPEdit

This is my first post, but i have been modding for about a year.

I am running a dynasty and have been editing my rosters with the importer/exporter for dynasty modes.

I check the rosters for errors before exporting to MVP baseball and once exported, in my dynasty rosters, some players are listed twice in the same batting order ie:

Jimmy Rollins SS

Shane victorino RF

Chase Utley 2b

batter 4

batter 5

etc..

then say batter 6 is listed again as Shane Victorino in RF

or sometimes its a Pitcher listed as a fielder??

I try to correct the errors in both the dynasty and the MVPedit

but then other teams are also affected.

Anyone have any ideas why my MVPedit keeps doing this to the batting orders?

Thanks

I don't think the problem lies in MVPEdit. It has to do with the importer/exporter program. I have experienced it before (though not every time I use the program) and never was able to find a definite solution. This problem may have been addressed by tywiggins in one of his threads. You may want to take a look at that.

What did you do ultimately to correct the lineups in MVP?

Should I create a new dynasty and start all over?

I not sure what the problem is really, but I have a big mess now in my dynasty rosters.

Multiple batting order errors, 121 different errors,

If i could just edit it, that would be fine, but everytime I do, and then export/import the .dat files, I end up with just more errors in the batting orders.

I've corrected the lineups in MVPedit, then exported them into MVP, etc...

but then different errors show up.

I will take a look at the postings u suggested.

Thanks

I wasn't really able to correct the issue. It wasn't that big of a deal for me then because I hadn't saved the game with the errors - so I just loaded the save file and went on from there. Also I wasn't trying to edit the rosters, I was placing someone on the DL. But one thing I am sure about is that the problem does not lie with MVPEdit.

If all you would like to do is just edit the lineups of different teams, one thing you could do is try the team changer mod by tywiggins. That would give you control of any team in the majors and you could fix the lineup for that team. But I am not sure if the changes will stay in place once you revert back to controlling your own team. But this is an option that you can give a try.

It is a glitch of MVPedit

you have to edit the roster.dat with a text editor and manually set the team lineup

Or you can let the CPU fix the lineup but that always sucks

I thought it was a problem with tywiggins' .dat importer/exporter. I hadn't used MVPEdit and I still ended up with multiple players on the team after using the importer/exporter. But it wasn't that big of a deal for me though.

I used the team changer program to edit my dynasty rosters, up until I found the .dat export/import program.

The appeal to me of the .dat file import was that I can add players missing from the different team rosters, and its quite easier frankly to find players just using MVPedit...

I do find the team changer to make a radical difference in my roster edits and I will use that again of course.

My current issue is just how my roster lineups are now that I didnt save and have this upload in place from the .dat program.

I read somewhere here a suggestion about editing the roster.dat file in a Text editor... I've heard of it, never did it, would if it fixes my rosters, but I'm charting unknown territory here. I've been modding a year or so here now and so far this has been by far the worst disaster I created yet.

Anyone care to shed some info regarding using a text editor to edit .dat files to correct the lineups imported from 2005importer program.

My rosters are intact basically, just dups of players in almost all the NL vs RHP, including w/DH lineup.

You can edit .dat files using notepad or wordpad.
so I've opened notepad, clicked on file, clicked on open, found the directory I created the .dat importer/exporter files....

and then i opened the roster.dat file...

I kinda see whats going on there, and I can see where it has the lineups listed and the errors, but I've no idea what a correct lineup would look like in that edit mode. So i closed out of it, till someone could possibly walk me through editing in the editor.
