Mav3rek
Donovan is leaving Florida to go coach the Orlando Magic. Thoughts? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2888555

kaplerisking
Boo! Traitor! I agree. He had offers on the table from other schools but kept saying he wanted to stay in Florida and keep winning, and now he goes to coach a mediocre NBA team. This is going to hurt the Florida basketball program significantly when they don't have a coach that can boast about winning back-to-back national titles. Recruiting for the team will probably take a hit.
kgbaseball
I can't blame him one bit. He has absolutely nothing left to prove at the college level, so why stay there. If the NBA doesn't work out, he'll have another job in college. He's taking over a team with some good talent, so maybe he can make them better. shoelessjoe19
I think it's a mistake, he needs to have a talk with Rick Pitino and PJ Carlisemo.
KidCavalier23
i personally think this is good. i say this because brian hill was an a** and my favorite player jj redick had no playing time at all. this should help because donovan coached NCAA and knows how good redick is. 2008 is a new year! :)
el_jefe061
I'm pretty sure he just pulled a reverse Nick Saban
Pudge77
i think this is a good move for him because he is going somewhere with a lot of young talent. He also could possibly get one of his players from Flordia
DoubleD
It's certainly easier to accept this after this past offseason. Like with Spurrier, that was hard. Real hard. But now, we already knew he wanted to go to the NBA, but that he wanted a promising job. He meant with Memphis and such. I really wouldn't say it was like Saban at all, because Saban said there was no way he was going back to college. Coach Donovan was different. Orlando is a promosing club, and I wish him luck. They're also my favorite NBA team, and only a couple hours away from here, so it's easier to cope with. Plus, we could probably pry that one guy away who was Donovan's assistant for like 12 years or something, he went to coach at VCU this year and they did great, including beating Duke in the tournament. Still doesn't change the fact that I'm bitter as hell, pissed, and want to physically confront him for leaving, haha...
