PS3 SIXAXIS controller on PC issues

Hey guys, first post here. I decided to sign up for the board to see if anyone here could help with this problem. Someone had a post about this same topic in the past, but they had given up without a solution as they got a different pad. I was wondering if anyone's found a workaround for this yet. Anyway, here's the story:

I recently got a PS3 SIXAXIS controller. I don't have a PS3, but it's able to be connected to your system directly via USB 2.0. I decided this was a great idea, because I would not only have a brand spankin' new all-black pad to match my system, but also the added bonus of having a legitimate Playstation pad to use that didn't have to be connected through a PSX to USB converter, as well as having dual analogs and being able to take it over friends houses wirelessly who have a PS3. How cool is that.

Anyway, as you might have guessed, the SIXAXIS isn't supported or recognized by MVP 2005. The program even lets you know on startup that "an unsupported device has been found and will be disabled" to add insult to injury. The thing that makes it so frustrating, is that by all logic, it should be showing up as just another generic pad. The PS3 SIXAXIS works on EA Sports' Need For Speed: Carbon which was made only a few months after MVP 2005, but it still refuses to let it be used. It just doesn't make any sense.

Has anyone found a way to get it to work? It would be a real shame to have to go get another pad to play this game properly right after I spent $50 on this one, and any other pad wouldn't have half the technology or be as versatile as the PS3 one is.

Yea I know I can use the PS3 on the computer. I have used it that way posted in the link with other games but the message "an unsupported device has been found and will be disabled" comes up when I enter the game. I configured the controller.cfg and everything but I does not allow me to use the controller.
