dutchxperienz
Hey, I'm currently playing a dynasty with the Braves called the South Side Story. Right now, I have Kelly Johnson on 2B, with Pete Orr on the bench and Martin Prado playing at Richmond. Johnson is first in the batting order, but he isnt very fast. The other two aren't any better fielders than him and are worse batters. So, I was thinking of making a trade for Orlando Hudson of the D-Backs. But, I'm not sure if he's worth it and if there might be any better, cheaper options around. Please vote for what you think is the best option and tell me who should be exchanged for the new 2B. Also, if you think I should try to get someone else, please post a post

maddux31
I too play a dynasty with the Braves and I am sticking with Johnson. He has great potential, and is young and cheap. He's a great suprise at 2nd this year and will only get better. He's not a stealer, but you could always put Renteria at leadoff if it bothers you that bad. Heck the Tigers use Pudge Rodriguez as a leadoff hitter against lefties. Stay with Johnson..
dutchxperienz
Bring Aybar up , his glove aint great but he can rake Id rather have Aybar as my backup 3B. And right now I need a someone whos a better fielder than Jonhson because lots of times he isn't fast enough to complete important double plays. dutchxperienz
Good observations Maddux, thanks. But I wonder how long it will take for Johnson to get to the Hudson, etc. level.
philliesphan18
Stick with him. You won't have to give up any players to stay with Johnson.
redsox
I would stick with what you have. Maybe have Rentaria batting lead-off but don't trade away Johnson.
dutchxperienz
K, it seems like everyone thinks I should stick with Johnson. Now another question: is there anyone else on the team who might be worth trading away for someone else (you can check out my team on my dynasty page, although it is the exact same roster as the current Braves one). Although I am quite satisfied with my team, there are still some holes. For example, Matt Diaz is painfully slow in left field and misses a lot of potential putouts for that reason. However, he is the best batter on my team so far, with a SLG of 1.111 (I think). Maybe I could get a new pitcher? Chuck James is really my weakest pitcher, with no pitch over 85 (control). My relievers are also not the best, with Lance Cormier out injured, and Chad Paronto being able to throw about .2 innings before he gets tired. Any suggestions? Or should I just try and resist the urge to get someone new?
philliesphan18
Do what the Braves do in real life, platoon Diaz and Harris.
alcoholicstepfather
First of all, stay with KJ at 2B. He's a very good hitter and I believe that his speed both in real life and in MVP's rosters is overrated. He does not steal much but he can run the bases very well. Besides, the Braves don't run much anyway. As for the bullpen, every time you warm Paronto up, have a second reliever up as well. That way you won't have to scramble to warm someone else up when he reached his 5 pitch limit. I'd say trade him, but I doubt you could get anything useful for him. If you want accuracy with your rosters, use MVP2005 Editor to suspend Willy Aybar. The guy has issues and the Braves suspended him early in the season. The rumor is he has drug/alcohol problems. dutchxperienz
Alright thanks, I was planning on using the editor to injure Chipper Jones as well. That way he won't get pissed that I'm not playing him.
lz477
Trade Felpie Lopez and make him your lead-off guy.
