Big_Papi
Do you have GFXPaK in your mvp folder? If so, maybe it's corrupted. Just try replacing it.

cable901
I have the same problem. It worked the first time I used MVPedit, but now everytime it tries to load a player portrait it says there was an error with gfx pak.
Jim825
Have you updated your portraits lately? I had no problems with gfxpak until yesterday when I installed all of the portraits that are in FuzzOne's Classic Roster pack. The portraits show up fine in the game, however, in MVPEdit I get the same gfxpak error that you do. I read somewhere on the forums here that MVPEdit has problems with gfxpak once you have more than 3000 portraits in the portraits.big file. I know that the Classic Roster pack adds 875 portraits so it probably pushed the portrait.big file over the 3000 portrait limit. I may see if removing some of the free agent portraits will help. It actually happens if you load in more than 2,998 portraits. I know because I did 2,999 & it caused the error. I removed one pic & then it worked. Btw... I already did that (removing many free agent pics). So if you download my Big Shmooz Portraits & Rosters file here on MVP Mods... you will have the work already done for you. Thing is, you still have 2939 pics in there. So you will have to do some kind of compromise with the 75 not to go over 2,998 pics. Hope this helps. dennis_is_theman
how do you remove them???
Jim825
If you issue the command gfxpak -d portrait.big xxxx.fsh, xxxx.fsh will be removed from the file. This will work as long as your portrait.big file is under the 2998 player limit. As I found, if it is over that limit, you get an error message when you try to run gfxpak. Today, I started from scratch by grabbing the default EA portrait.big file (from the CD). Using a combination of MVPEdit and NTNGod's MVP photo list spreadsheet (I got it at www.highheat2004.net), I was able to find players that are not in the roster files included with FuzzOne's Classic Roster set. I removed portraits for the "missing" players until I got down to about 2075 in the portrait.big file (it took me a while). I made a backup of this file and then added all of the portrait's in FuzzOne's Classic Roster set (there are 875 portraits). This brought my total up to about 2950 portraits in the file. I fired up MVPEdit and everything now works fine for me. I'd offer to post the portrait file, however, it has a size of 193 Meg. Even compressed, it's still over 110 Meg. in size. Jim825
I have a feeling that Trues would not want to host a 110 Meg file. Plus, it would take forever for some to download it.

Jim825
I've compressed the portrait.big file into a .RAR file and it's "only" 65 Meg. I tried uploading it earlier this morning from work, but the upload failed. I don't know if our corporate network has a limit on the size of uploads. I'll try uploading from home later today when I get home from work Also, I haven't actually tried this with the game yet (I haven't had time to play), however, I don't expect any problems since I only removed portraits for players NOT in the Total Classics roster. As I said yesterday, I did verify that there are no longer problems with MVPEdit.

Jim825
You won't run into problems UNLESS you start adding portraits for players NOT in the rosters. If you simply update portraits for players in the rosters, gfxpak overwrites the existing portrait, which does not increase the total number of portraits in the file. As I said, right now there are about 2950 portraits in the file, so you have some overhead (about 48 portraits) if you accidentally add some new portraits. Just remember that if you go over the 2998 portrait limit, you won't be able to use gfxpak to remove the extra portraits. Then you'll have to start all over again.
