FireGillick
Hello everyone. I used to be able to play MVP 05, with the 07 mod just fine. Then one day it started freezing at the first load screen (the bar would fill about 90%). For the record, I know it can take a while to load I uninstalled everything, installed MVP 05 and it did it again. That was a few months ago. I recently did a full system restore on my PC, installed MVP 05 and it still crashes. I don't know why it was working before and not now (obviously). I never changed any of the hardware in my pc. I don't get any error message or anything, the game just freezes and the only way for me to get it closed is by restarting my computer. I've tried everything I can think of, but I'm not exactly a genius when it comes to PCs. I searched the forums but didn't find any help, sorry if I missed it. Here's my specs: WindowsXP Radeon 9600 (128 mb,) 1 gig ram 2.53GHz P4
krawhitham
did you install a new firewall or upgrade your existing one?
FireGillick
Yeah, I installed a new one. When I ran MVP05 for the first time I got the popup saying "do you want to allow this yada yada yada" and I did. Could it still be blocking it? I don't know diddly poo about firewalls and ports and all that.
krawhitham
I know MVP & comodo crashes my system unless I tell comodo to allow MVP2005.exe to do whatever it wants

TheTweeds
I have been having the same types of issues I had to get a new machine and installed MVP 05, then the 07 mod (which for some reason would delete my .exe file out of the folder). I would replace it with my copy of the .exe file and it would load the 07 load screen but crash.... I am thinking I may have a similiar problem I am running Norton Internet Security code that be causing the problem.

Yankee4Life
alright got a post locked for talking about the no cd thing and apologize just hard keeping all my cds with me when i travel but i do have the cds and i am trying to get this to work with the cds Hey man, I understand how hard it is, believe me. But if someone out there who works for EA sees that we allow or look the other way or encourage our users to use a no-cd patch (and we don't) they can make things hard on us. And it isn't worth having the site shut down because of that. Please don't think I am singling you out in any way to give you a hard time. I know you just want to play your game and be done with it. I hope you finally are able to do so.

Yankee4Life
What is comodo? Comodo is a free personal firewall. That is not your problem here. Ok, I want you to try this. Keep in mind I am not an expert in this area like Krawhitham and Hory are, just to name two of these guys off the top of my head. I know this might be a pain, but try this: Reinstall everything again. Do it like this: 1. Install Mvp 2005. 2. After 2005 is installed successfully, go into the game directory and COPY the mvp2005.exe file and place it in another directory, say for example make a new directory called C:Temp. Put the copy of mvp2005.exe in there. 3. Now, before you install Mvp 2007, disable your Norton Internet Security and turn it back on when you are done installing Mvp 2007. 4.When you are done with that, see if everything is ok. If the EXE file is missing from your directory after you installed Mvp 2007 (and I don't know why that would be) go get the copy of the EXE file you have in that other directory. 5.Once everything is in place, try to get in the game. 6. If this does work, great! And if it works, please do not replace the exe with the NO CD patch. If any of you guys reading this think there is a better way to do this, please let this guy know. BigPaPa
making an ISO of your original game cd is just as effective as a NO CD crack and theres nothing remotely wrong with it. Infact its probably more effective because often times no cd cracks can cause minor problems in game.

TheTweeds
I will try this tonight hopefully. It is weird because I remember when the First Appearance of 07 came out in Feb I donwloaded it and used it fine no problem the only difference is this internet security which they threw on the machine if anybody else knows of something please let me know. I am starting to twitch have not been able to play for a month.
TheTweeds
I noticed when installing it asks for CD2 then quickly asks for CD1 again could that be the problem or is that normal. For example basically as soon as I put cd 2 in, it requests cd 1 should it be longer because I guess it should be grabbing the files. Here is the process I will try tonight: Fresh Install 2005 -Install Patch #3 and #5 (downloaded from here) -Turn off Internet Security -Install MVP 2007 PRAY TO GOD IT WORKS!!! Just somebody let me know My Disc 2 has a small scratch on it so Im thinking this may be the problem at this point because MVP 07 is not looking for Disc 2. redsox
You can skip the first two steps - especially the second step. MVP 07 re-patches the game so there is no need to install either of the patches. Also you would want to include the MVP 07 Patch # 2 found @ www.eamods.com after you install the 07 MOD. If you disk is scratched, there is not a whole lot of things you can do. You could try and clean it up and see if it gets any better. From my recollection, the installer should not ask for CD 1 again. I believe it asks for CD 1 and then asks for CD 2 and that is it. You don't need to swap any more CDs.
