Hoop27
Don't know if there is anyway to get at this but I would like to see something adjusted so that the CPU manager will yank their pitcher a little earlier. Most games I seem to get the opposing pitcher still in the game at 15-20% stamina and of course you know the pitcher is just going to hang one to get knocked into the upper deck. It would be nice to have something to tell the CPU manager that say in a game that is within 3 runs he yanks his pitcher when he hits 25% stamina (or whatever the individual would like the number to be) Any ideas if that is possible? angryrat
This doesn't completely solve the problem, but adjusting the stamina sliders did help me a little bit with the issue. Make is so the pitcher fatigues a little faster they seem to pull him a little sooner. I stopped playing AL games because of the AI bullpen management. Without the pitcher batting, they just leave him in there forever. It's the opposite of the older MVP games, where they would have guys warming up in the pen in the 3rd inning of a 1-0 game. superciuc
A lot of time it's because of the pitch count. If they have 15-20 % stamina but his pitch count is low (i mean, 70-80 pitches) they're gonna leave him into the ballgame. When he usually hits 100 pitches they're gonna call a reliever. freudianslip
I know this isn't the solution you are probably looking for, but I have found it necessary to hit pause, go to "controller select" and switch to controlling the CPU team and making their bullpen decisions for them. Then when I am done, I switch back to controlling my original team. I do this because I crave SIMULATION baseball and quite frankly this game's late inning AI with respect to both pinch hitters/pinch runners and especially bullpen management is weak. If you desire a similar SIMULATION experience, I suggest you try the same.
