mweber721
I used a Dodger jersey set from MVP 2004 with names on the back, but when i imported them into MVP 2005, the names still werent there. Is it hard coded in the game that names cant be on Dodgers jerseys?
krawhitham
Yes it is hard coded

Lucas
Im sure it is possible to find this code and reverse it. It would take some work no doubt. Cause after all, nothing is impossible. Except the Maple Leafs being a playoff team. THAT, my friends, is impossible.
redsox
Wouldn't moving the jerseys to a different slot fix the problem? I had read somewhere that the names show up only on certain slots. I am not sure if I had understood it properly or not. But you could try that and see.
mweber721
Moving the jerseys to a different slot would make names appear on the jerseys if the Dodgers jerseys were moved to a slot that used names on the back of their jerseys (like the Brewers or Padres slot). But then you wouldnt be able to use the Dodgers jerseys for the Dodgers if u moved them to a different slot.

Im sure one of the Dodgers slots does allow for names on the Jersey.

xfatalherox
I'm pretty sure it can be done! there is a set of dodger vintage home/road jerseys in the game that do have the names on the back. Now, would'nt it be possible to just change the design of those vintage jerseys to that of the current jerseys and keep the names on the back? I'm really hoping this can be done! xfatalherox
yes i understand that about the home and away jerseys, however, the VINTAGE Home and Away Jerseys DO have the names on the back. so what i'm trying to say is, cant one just modify the look of the vintage jerseys and change those to look like the current jerseys, while keeping the names on the back at the same time? or is this impossible? That should be possible, however because it is a vintage jersey slot, there would be no hockey-style catcher's mask and there would be no high socks, regular pants, and baggy pants, because there is only one type of pants in vintage slots. Also, you may or may not have batting gloves (I'm not familiar with the Dodgers vintage slots, so I can't say for sure about the batting gloves). So to sum it up -- yes that would put the names on the back, but it wouldn't be worth it in my mind. It would just look stupid. Just sit back and wait for Kraw to work his magic/mayhem. thespungo
vintage slots????????? can you please explain to me what slots are what, I have asked many times but no one ever answers I'll use the Royals slots as an example, because I know them the best and also because they're the best pro sports team in the history of human sports: The Royals have the following slots -- u007A, B, C, D, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, O. Slots A-D and O are the standard 2007 home/roads and home/road alts and spring uniforms. Names are displayed on the back and numbers are also displayed on the front of the jersey. Slots G-J are vintage slots. These are the throwback jerseys, the powder blues and the 70s junk. I believe names and numbers still appear on the jerseys here. (This can change from team to team, it's just however it was hard-coded in the game). The main difference with jerseys installed in these slots is they take on the vintage rules: A. Depending on the team and era, there may/may not be batting gloves. B. There are no hockey-style catcher's masks. C. There are no baggy pants. Either all players wear high socks, or all players wear regular pants. Only one pants style can exist for each uniform. That's why it's always best to overwrite vintage uniforms with vintage uniforms, otherwise modern day uniforms just won't look the same as if they were installed in any other slot. Slots K-M are slots you have to install yourself. Fuzz's studio does it automatically for you, but KC sends me the necessary files so I don't need to bother with any programs. These slots are exactly the same as the regular modern slots, however numbers are NOT shown are the front of the jersey, although names are still shown on the back. While different teams may have different slot names (E instead of G, etc), I've found that most teams have the four vintage slots that you've got to be cautious of. thespungo
Alright, well I do believe I've solved everyone's little problem here. If you'd like the names on the back of that 'ole video game Dodgers jersey, then just install it in slot u016k. I can't post the necessary slot file, as my slot man KC isn't online right now. So you guys just need to sit tight until tomorrow when KC gets online and does this whole thing for me. But just remember -- Jesse did this. Give Jesse your money, not KC. Give Jesse your praise and admiration. Give everything you have to me.

Kccitystar
yeah but doing all of that work for the sake of having the letters on the back of the uniforms isn't really worth it IMO.
thespungo
here was my idea install the home & away uniforms in 2 different slots remove slots a&b hex edit MVP2005.exe and change 016a & 016b to the two new slot names That looks horribly complicated yet feasible. Luckily for us you can handle all that hex editing yourself, because I would be of no help there. And apparently I'm of no help in slot play, either... ... so the K slot didn't work. EAgraph is showing the u016k slot is in the uniforms.big and the uniform is showing up in the models.big, yet in the game the jersey is not present in the select screen. Could it be that the game has just hard-coded a block on the K slot for the Dodgers? Because I use the K slot with other teams and it works. Also, I've put names on the back of a Yankees jersey in slot u011c -- do the Dodgers have names on the back of their blue alternate? What about installing the home and away in slots C and D?
