YankeeFan4Life101
I haven't changed my datafile and with all of these new ones being put out which datafile gets the most realistic results? Ball physics, gameplay and the whole what not...? I've seen kumala and KSM What do you guys use and think is better? (Which one is more of a slower gamelike feel and better easy to get adapted to?) ragamuffindaniel
i think kumala is more realistic.
seanzarelli
Kumala's has more realistic features to it, you just have to adjust some of the sliders to your liking, most notably the pitching difficulty and possibly the pitcher control. Using his datafile I've had some serious close games that have been 1-0, 2-2, etc. going into the 9th and being won on a mistake pitch.
dannyt
I'm using KSM's right now and it has produced some realistic scores, but I still need to mess with the sliders. The problem I have is with me personally. I can't lay off any blasted pitches to get any walks! My only problem with the datafile is with the CPU contact. I have the slider at -30 and they still get 13 or 14 hits off me each game. The CPU doesn't score an unreal amount of runs, but that's a lot of hits. They seem to come up with the most timely hits on perfect pitches. I'm trying to figure out if it's my pitching or the datafile
elduque
I have used MD's, KSM, Trues and Kumala, I have to say I served as a beta tester for the last Kumala's datafile and we adjusted hitting and pitching to his best, it really feels like the real thing, even strange things happens that happens in real games, and I have turned OFF "variable stuff", so they come from the datafile, for instance, a HIGH bound in front of home plate that when the pitcher got it have no place to trhow, too late, also once Lo Duca trying to check a swing hit the ball down the first base line very slow, runned to first and on his way the ball hit him, and was ruled out, that was a cool realistic moment, the only thing I have changed is giving a bit more power to the CPU because they don't really hit it hard, but just a bit, raised till 10, tried 15 and they hit every ball out of the park. I am playing in PRO mode with Hoop's all star sliders (yes all star) and Kumala's datafile and I am very very happy, only thing I will like to tune is the speed of the runners, not for stealing (I steal a lot with Reyes & Cia.) but in the bases, they seem to get "safe" every time a ball is hit into deep infield (shortstop) and kill my DP, on the other hand when I hit a similar ball and it's Reyes (100 speed rate into the second season) he regularly got OUT, that's not real at all, but it's my only complain. Cavicchi
I use KSM's 2007 Datafile along with my slider adjustments. The answer to your question regarding KSM is a bit complicated since he has various datafiles and game play mods. As far as was is best for you, it depends on how well you play and at what level. I think you need to play with the sliders according to your ability and what makes the game most enjoyable for you. I play on the All-Star level with slider adjustments mainly to help with the pitching meter, which is quite different than on Pro.
Hoop27
personally I'd say Maddies right now. I think I may have figured out the flaw in Kumala's DF and if I'm right and it can be fixed then I would go with Kumala's
herky
MD's file is really lacking for these reasons. Computer comback's are way too often. Too many triples given up to the computer. Way too many homeruns allowed to the compter. Hard to strike out batters. Computer gets too many up the middle hits that causes the pitcher to dive out of the way. I do like the camera angles and everything else about the file, but the other issues are far too glaring for me. I want a challenge, but getting screwed in the 9th over and over isn't realistic for me. I've been playing this game since 2005 and know what to do, but the reason's I've stated above kill that file.
