Question about MVPEdit

Is there anyway I can edit the rosters for the allstar team to make em current for this year without screwing up the other rosters? In other words is there a way I can just copy a player over to the Allstar team instead of transfering him from his current team to the allstar team?

you have to edit with a text editor, not mvpedit. or you can just get kg's new roster, it's already got them.

He released a new roster since they announced the teams a couple hours ago?

You have to mess with the .dat files to do it. Open the roster.dat, team.dat, and attrib.dat in Notepad.

In the team.dat, search for the ID of the AL and NL All Star teams (from now on, we'll call it the HEX ID). It's the line that's 8 numbers/letters long right at the beginning of each team's line. Once you find it for the AL, copy it. Open up the roster.dat, go to Find, and paste the HEX ID. There should be 25 results that come up.

Open up the attrib.dat and mlb.com's All Star teams. I'm not going to go into huge detail because I'm terrible at explaining things, but to construct a new team, you have to replace the HEX IDs of every player on the 2006 All Star team with guys on the 2007 teams.

Here's what my AL All Star team looks like.

untitled1so2.jpg

The number highlighted is the AL team HEX ID, the string to the right of that is the player's HEX, and the string to the right of that is what position the players plays.

You can find the player HEXs in the attrib.dat. For the first line, you can see "015ff7627", and their position is the 3rd starting pitcher. If you look up that number, you'll find it's Johan Santana. HEX IDs for players are different for every roster, so you can't mix and match them.

Anyways, if you wanted to replace Johan with CC Sabathia (or anyone else in the roster for that matter), look up CC's number in the attrib.dat, and replace Johan's number with CC's. Do that for all 25 positions, save the roster.dat, and import the .dat files into a new MVPEdit .mbe file and they'll show up.

Hope that helps.

Yep. You can use that if you want. But, since I had to leave some players out (MCCann, Soriano, etc.) you can use that tutorial I just gave to put them in yourself if you want.

What I did for the All Star teams was make sure to use all pitchers, starters, and have 1 rep for every team. Since there's more than 25 players to an All Star team, some were left out.

KG, wouldn't you be able to do the following through MVPEdit?

- Export those players who are on the all-star team

- Delete everyone currently on the AL and NL team

- Import those players that you exported into the two vacant teams

Will this cause any errors?
