MetsReyes777
Southpaw Showdown in the Windy City, May 8th 2007 Odalis Perez took on Mark Buehrle in what was sure to be a great pitchers matchup in Chicago It was an offense-filled first inning for the Royals, as they were able to get 2 runs on 3 hits off of Mark Buehrle. Tony Pena lead off the game with a single and David DeJesus knocked him in directly after with his 3rd double on the season. Right after David DeJesus, Royals talented left fielder EMil Brown follwed the trend by smashing a double of his own to knock in EMil Brown, putting the Royals up 2-0 early in the 1st. Like I said this game was a southpaw showdown, and both pitchers were on their game. Odalis Perez was sharp, and went 7 strong innings and recorded three strikeouts, one of them against Podsednik in the picture below. Mark Buehrle was also sharp and effectiv,e, as he can be seen here picking off the speedy Royals shortstop TOny Pena Jr. Some flashy defense by third basemen Alex Gordon and a two-run bomb by Mike Sweeney that put the Royals ahead 4-1 was all the Royals would need this afternoon, as they took the game 4-2. Gordon Sweeney Octavio Dotel got the save, recording two strikeouts It was a great win for the guys as they celebrated on the field.
MetsReyes777
Hey guys, I've decided to make a new form of game recap. I'mg going to keep posting the boxscore like I have been, but instead of a bunch of screenshots of the game, I've made my own template on photoshop, with an ESPn flare I guess you could say. It's called "The Big Four" and what it is is basically the biggest 4 game-chaning plays of the game, all on one thing, heres a preview of what it would look like
redsox
That layout is really looking good man. One thing I would suggest is to tone down on the bevel. Maybe reduce the depth a little. But in any case, its surely looking great. Keep it up.

MetsReyes777
Home, Sweet Home. The Royals arrived back at Kauffman Stadium today with a sense of warmth and happiness after playing at U.S. Cellular Field in the Windy City. This game was possibly the best Royals game of the year, ans they were able to mash out 7 runs off of Indians pitcher Paul Byrd. Byrd held them hitless through 2 innings until in the 3rd inning, Emil Brown stepped up to the plate and delivered a much needed 2-RBI single to bring the momentum to the Royal's side. Directly after, 1st Basemen Mike Sweeney followed with a line shot into the hole that Indians shortstop Jhonny Peralta was able to handle, but threw it away at first base, giving the Royals a 3-0 lead. Next up, was the talented right fielder Mark Teahen, who capped off the inning with a 3-Run blast into the right field bleachers. Listen live to the 3rd inning, from Brown's 2-RBI single all the way to Teahen's shot, brought to you by Kansas Sports Radio 810 AM Podcasts They Royals took the game 7-2, as Jorge de la Rosa pitched 7 strong shutout innings, and improved his record to 3-0 and his ERA to 2.79 Here's your Big Four Game recap for the night. MetsReyes777
In Seattle, It Indeed Was Raining...Homeruns though. The Royals arrived in Seattle for a four game set against Ichiro and the Mariners. It was rainy weather, and overcast, but it was also raining in a different way, homeruns. The Royals blasted four homeruns on the game, right from the start. The first pitch of the game, shortstop Tony Pena J.R. smshed a solo shot off Mariner's pitcher Jarrod Washburn, a flashy southpaw. Ben Hendrixkson was on the mound for the first time after making his Royals debut, where he pitched 8 shutout innings against the strong Minnesota Twins. Hendrickson is known to have a stamina issue, so he was only able to go 6 innings, but he only gave up 3 ER's and recorded 4 strikeouts, pretty impressive numbers. Alex Gordon, David DeJesus, Mark Grudzielanek and Tony Pena Jr. were all able to crank out homers today, as the Royals took the opener game of the series, 5-3.Octavio Dotel came on in the 9th, and got the save to up the Royals season record to 10-5. You can listen to Dotel's save live on Kansas Sports Radio 810 Am by clicking on the podcast logo below. Here is your Big Four Game recap for the night. MetsReyes777
A Career Day for Veteran Mike Sweeney Seattle, Washington (AP) In what was supposed to be a heated pitching matchup between the Royals Gil Meche and the Mariner's Jeff Weaver, a rarity occured. Royals first basemen Mike Sweeney blasted 3 homeruns on the day, and he got started right off the bat (literally. In the first, Sweeney blasted a solo shot off of Jeff Weaver that gave the Royals an early lead, a trend that they have been following all season long. In the 7th, Mike Sweeney steppd up to the plate and smashed his second homer of the game, which gave the Royals the lead 6-3. But Sweeney was not done. In the 9th, he stepped up against Seattles Brandon Morrow, and cranked his 3rd homerun of the game. Sweeney alone was a boost of confidence to the team and all they needed to take the victory, 8-5. here is your Big Four game recap for the night, I'm sure you already know 3 of the highlights. MetsReyes777
Royals Break Hearts, MLB Records A combined 17 homeruns and 44 hits. Welcome to Safeco Field, in Seattle, Washington. It infact was not raining weather wise, but it was raining homeruns, for both sides. The razor sharp Zack Greinke took the hill against Seattle's Horacio Ramirez. Seattle's bats exploded and were able to crank out homeruns off of Zack Greinke, courtesy of Adrian Beltre, Raul Ibanez, Richie Sexson AND Jose Guillen. it was 6-0 SEA in the top of the 4th until, I guess you could say. a force took over the Royals. Mark Grudzielanek started the inning with a 2-Run Homer that slimmed the Mariner's lead to 6-2. jason LaRue followed Mark with a homer of his own, then Pena Jr. followed LaRue, DeJesus followed Pena Jr and YES, Emil Brown followed David DeJesus. The Royals broke an MLB record for most consecutive at-bats with homeruns.5. Next batter was Mike Sweeney, and he singled up the middle. But just when one thought it was over, mark teahen followed with a two-run shot of his own, giving the Royals the lead 8-6 in the top of the 4th, capping off a 8-run inning. In the top of the fifth, 3B Alex Gordon led off with a solo homerun of his own, giving the Royals seven homeruns on the game. But they weren't done. In the 7th, CF David DeJesus stepped up to the plate, and yep you guessed it, he hit a grand slam right down the right field line that almost went foul, but hooked around the pole and capped off an 8 homerun game for the Royals, putting them ahead 14-6. The Royals scored 2 more in the top of the 9th, putting them ahead 16-7. However, the Mariners had something to say about it. The mariners tied a Major League record, homering 4 consecutive times, Ichiro, Sexson, Beltre and Ibanez were the culprits. Then, Ben Broussard grounded out, but Jose Guillen followed with a homer of his own, slimming the Royals lead to 16-14. But that's all she wrote as Joakim Soria was able to get the last few outs and finish the game. You can listen to David DeJesus's grand-slam that put the game out of reach for the Mariners by clicking on the Kansas Sports Radio 810 AM radio feed below.
