el_jefe061
(Trailer for "Cloverfield" J.J. Abrams project) *** kicking-attempt at character development-babe-attempt at plot-*** kicking-*** kicking-attempt at plot again-*** kicking-babe-*** kicking-end Like I've told other people, if you're expecting Oscar worthy acting, top notch dialogue, and a well constructed plot from a Michael Bay(Bad in his own right) movie about fighting robots you are poorly mistaken. I went in there expecting to see robot fighting action, the chick with the real hot eyes, and a flashback to Saturday morning cartoons. Nothing more. I am extremely satisfied with the result. As with any Michael Bay film, the cameras on the action sequences make it hard to follow, but it didn't ruin the movie for me. Also, that small robot made me want to gouge my eyes out. Other than that, I have no qualms about Transformers. Besides those two issues, the movie is essentially an expensive advertisement for GM, and I've never seen more product placement in a movie in my life. Thoughts on the movie? Although there were more than hot eyes on that chick [Megan Fox]. Completely smoking. Think Linsey Lohan but about 5X as good looking and a better body. Yikes. Oh yeah.. the movie.... I really enjoyed it and it is spot on what you are talking about. Product placement abound in that flick. A Sony CD player, Nokia phone, even a Mountain Dew soda machine turned into transformers. Not to mention all the cars. I guess VW didn't anti up and pay for the rights to Bumble Bee since he was a VW Bug in the cartoons. GM swooped in and made him Camaro. The end result was cool but it just bugs to think how it came about. Instead of being accurate in the car makes and models, they sold out to the highest bidder it seems. Ah well. Also kind of irked me how some of the transformers look NOTHING like the cartoon/action figures they were portraying. Megatron and Starscream were unrecognizable. That is the biggest tiff I have with the movie. But it is a good movie overall and definitely worth a look.
Ace152
Saw it this afternoon with my son. We both thought it was great. The CGI robots looked awesome, and the movie had just the right amount of crap blowing up for our tastes(which was nearly non-stop). Perfect summer action flick. It's weird how Jessica Alba makes a cameo and she's not even remotely the best looking woman in the movie. As for the product placement, I love how they would show something (Like the memory card in the laptop) and it would be in slow motion and this just huge shot of it. As for the accuracy of the robots, the cartoon I remember watching wasn't the original, but the one with the animals, so it doesn't bother me. Acutally VW refuses to have any of their vehicles portrayed as a weapon or in a violent manner, so Hasbro couldn't and won't be able in the future to portray BB as a VW anything. Homer
jessica alba made a cameo? how did i miss that? finally saw this thing, and i gotta say, i liked it. action wise. didn't like who all they killed off, but i guess i'm just used to the cartoon. bring on omega supreme and the dinobots for part 2!! also, did i just completely miss soundwave? i think some of these not looking like the cartoons irked me a bit too, but i'm sure glad megatron didn't transform into a stupid gun. i always thought that was lame. TwentySeven
Megan Fox is hot but her acting isn't all that great. The script is horrible.. (Optimus Prime saying "My bad"? Really?)... The action scenes aren't even that good. They ignore some of the best transformers. They made Bumblebee more aggressive than they really had to and used cheap humor - Bumblebee peeing on the secret agent dude? The masturbation gag? Really? God. There were a couple of bright spots though - Megan Fox is smokin' hot (reminds me of Angelina Jolie when she was really really hot), and I really enjoyed Shia Leboufs performance as Sam Whitwicky. He's a good actor, I can see why people are comparing him to Tom Hanks.
stEdfuNk
Shia is one of my favorite actors, I remember watching him on even stevens in middle school, and he has a good sense of humor, ive caught him on Carson Daily and he's really funny

IIRC, the Transformers cartoon was a little goofey in the lingo aspect but I do agree they pushed it with the "my bad" and Bumble Bee peeing on that dude. One thing I do like is how they made Jazz talk. He was always the "hip hop" type in the cartoon. Best line in the movie was how he said something like 'Bring it on Decepticon punk!' when he jumped on the tank (Brawl, I think). I've seen it twice and can say it is a great movie. Still bugs the hell out of me that they made Starcream look like this: ...instead of this:
Homer
yeah, starscream looking like that sucked...that and jazz's fate. those things, and this guy missing too:
Thome25
I really expected it be bad but too my suprise it really was'nt. I mean, I'm 33 and grew up with the Transformers and I thought that they did a great job on a real to life Transformers movie.
