Serious Problem with a datafile

I recently DLed KSM's latest Fox overlay w/ no infobar (v. 3.2, I think), and did not realize his datafile came with it. I have since tried to contact to ksmlove000 with no response. That was 2 days ago. I do not have a backup of the datafile because, again, I did not know I was getting one in the package. Ever since DLing this file, i have not been able to pull a ball with a single hitter. Every swing aimed for pull goes, at best, straightaway center and, at worst, into the opposite field. Anything aimed at the opposite field goes WELL foul. Also, what should be home run balls have ended up as absolutely towering flies that die short of the wall. I am extremely frustrated. Can anyone tell me how to fix this or, better yet, anyone have a copy of the original datafile? Thanks in advance. :wall:

just delete the datafile in the data folder and choose another datafile. Next time extract the files to a new folder before installing into the mvp folder or just just overwrite the old datafile with a new one.

i think you just delete datafile.txt in the /data folder and it should be back to normal (note: not the datafile folder)

That is correct sir. The default file is inside the datafile.big :wtg:

I had same problem. I noticed the date of the file was wrong so I made sure I first made a folder named "Backup" and placed original file in it. Then I installed new and it crashed. All I did was put back the original data file and deleled the new one. I did keep the new file in the frontend folder and all works great. Let me know if it works for you.

What do you mean by "original"? There is no "original" datfile.txt. That file is a subfile inside another file called "datafile.big". Btw... there is no need to keep the file in the frontend folder. It does nothing being there. (Of course it does no harm either, other than to take up unnecessary space)

Tell me if I am wrong, but did you remove your datafile.big when you installed your new datafile? If so, that is why your game crashed. You're not supposed to replace anything. All you are supposed to do is put the new datafile inside the data folder & leave the datafile.big alone.

I wish I knew what happened. The DL ran on an installer, so i didn't extract to specific folders like most downloads. All i know is that in addition to the overlay I wanted, I got sideswiped by new load screens, CTS screen, menu screens, and the game didn't play the same anymore. I have since hunted down the datafile.txt file and deleted it, and now all is well.

I DO know how to make backups, b/c I backed up the overlay and have a whole folder full of backups for unis and stadiums and other stuff I've modded, but nothing in the readme said anything about these other files accompanying the overaly install or I'd have backed them up too.

I appreciate all the feedback, and the problem is now resolved. Keep doing what you guys do best.
