rambo
Is Oakland's staff not doing well this year? It seems that way, the only pitcher with a winning record is Dan Haren who is 4-0 with about a 1.2 ERA. It's lucky we don't have to face him. rambo
Rays rally to support Neal, take down A's. After surrendering 2 runs in the 2nd, and down 2-0 after 4. It looked as though the Rays were spiralling toward another shutout loss. However, the Rays rallied for 2 runs in the 5th courtesy of a Dave Pudge solo HR and a 2-out RBI double by Lambda Zeta tied the game. Neal continued to pitch well and was rewarded with the W after Matthew Polites hit a tie-breaking homer with one out in the 7th. Neal allowed his fair share of hits, and left Ben DeCoste in a tricky position with 2 runners on and only one out in the bottom of the 7th. But DeCoste showed the brilliance he had been showing all year, striking out Milton Bradley and getting Mike Piazza to pop out to 2nd to end the threat. Scott Moore pitched his first 1-2-3 eighth of the year, and exerted dominance as the setup man for the first time also, and Mike Philsphan kept his 0.00 ERA intact with a perfect 9th to earn the save. W: Neal (3-2) L: Blanton (0-4) S: Philsphan (5) NOTABLE RAYS PERFORMERS: M Haylock 3-4 D Pudge 1-4 HR(4) M Polites 1-3 HR (4) Boxscore: http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores/users/rambo/TB24.htm Pudge rounds second after his solo shot cut the deficit to 2-1. Lambda Zeta laces his RBI double to center in the 5th. Matthew Polites belts his go-ahead solo HR in the 7th. Philsphan celebrates his 5th save of 2007. The homerun hitters walk off the field together at the end of the ballgame.

rambo
Rays bullpen struggles continue. Philsphan blows save, then loses game. For the first time in 2007, Mike Philsphan blew a save on a homer to Mark Kotsay in the 10th, then surrendered a walk-off HR to Dan Johnson in the 12th as the Rays lost to the A’s 3-2. They needed a rally again, with the Rays rallying from a run down to tie the game on a sac-fly by Chris Kelvarr in the 7th. The Rays scored the go-ahead run in the 10th with Lambda Zeta hitting another sac-fly to put the Rays ahead for intimidating closer, Mike Philsphan. He retired Jason Kendall to lead off the inning but allowed a long-ball to Mark Kotsay. He pitched well in the 11th, but offered up the homer to Johnson in the 12th for the disappointing loss. W: Street (1-1) L: Philsphan (0-1) NOTABLE RAYS PERFORMERS: M Haylock 3-6 J Blizzard 7.0 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 2K 0BB Boxscore: http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores/users/rambo/TB25.htm Michael Haylock beats out a crucial infield single in the 8th. Pudge can’t reach Kotsay’s game tying HR in the 10th. Andrew Wright makes a freaky catch in the 11th.
