Kccitystar
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...dDic&refer=home A PlayStation with a 60-gigabyte hard drive will sell for $499 starting today, part of a push to double U.S. sales, Jack Tretton, head of Tokyo-based Sony's U.S. games unit, said in an interview. An 80-gigabyte model goes on sale in August for $599. This current video game generation is so fscking complicated compared to last gen with the PS2 and the XBOX, honestly. Microsoft and Sony both released systems that were too expensive to manufacture and now they releasing different SKUs left, right, and center in order to claim some of that money back. Nintendo is by far IMO the only company that actually went the right route by keeping it "one size fits all" and making a profit on each unit sold. In the minds of consumers like me, there simply is no price cut. The system costs $500 and $600 like it did from the day it first shipped. The only change is that now you get 20GB and a free game with the $600 model. Thoughts?

Kccitystar
You can now get a free wireless controller with your purchase of the PS3 at Circuit City as well as 5 Blu-Ray movies. Not bad. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sony-PlaySt...1&mid=sduidp0t0
krawhitham
Nintendo might have the right idea but the Wii has less power than the Xbox 1 Microsoft will announce a price cut also sometime during the E3 convention and with Sony, they are also going to stop producing the cheaper PS3 once again, Just like when the stopped making the 20 GB they have plans to stop making the 60GB, so once again your only choice will be $599 Also when the 80 GB comes out it will no longer have HARDWARE backward compatibility, it will be software like the 360 and be less compatible. Europe already has the software version and people are bitching all over the place about games not working

DJEagles
I am more then happy with my Wii, and wouldn't trade it in for a PS3. I just want to play video games, I am not looking for all the bells and whistles the other systems have....although I do enjoy the 360.

The Wii is fun to play with when you have family and friends around. I get bored with it really easy when its just me and it. As for the PS3, I think its pretty good. I'm mad that it went down 100 dollars. Oh well...
Dan
Guys, Sony just screwed us over - they made us think we were getting a deal and got us to break down and get the lower-priced 60GB (like two of my friends did), and then announced an 80GB model for $599. After a move like that, I'm now leaning towards the 360 - I've been trying to decide between the two, but I'm not buying from a company that does that. What's this? Did I just hear the 60GB is out of production now? Jezus... -dan
ronmexico
Haha, when does Sony not screw over the consumer? I can't believe I sided with Microsoft : but I own a 360. I'm thinking the Wii woulda been a good thing to get, but luckilly my roomate at college got one and I don't really enjoy paying for games...
