seanzarelli
Ok, so my most anticipated concert of the year has come and gone, and with that, I can happily say that it was all I could have expected. Me and my friend got to the Smirnoff Music Center about 10am and got robbed of $15 to park in the parking lot, lol. After finding a spot, we walked up towards the gates just to see what was going on and then walked about 1/4 mile to the end of the line. About 10:50 the line started moving and we got into the gate about 11:15. Once through the gate we headed over into the main stage area to look at the big inflatable schedule so we could write the times and stage down for the bands that we wanted to see. And this is where the visual descriptions start. Band #1: Big D and the Kids Table @ 12:00pm on the 13 Stage Band #2: All Time Low @ 12:45 on the Hurley.com Stage Band #3: Funeral For A Friend @ ??? on the 13 Stage and MySpace Tent ^ My friend Mike with the lead singer & guitarist Band #4: Pepper @ 1:30 on the Lucky Stage Band #5: Coheed & Cambria @ 2:00 on the 13 Stage Band #6: The Dollyrots @ 2:45 on the Hot Topic Stage Band #7: The Matches @ 3:45 on the Hurley.com Stage Band #8: As Cities Burn @ 4:15 on the Smart Punk Stage Band #9: New Years Day @ 4:45 on the Hurley.com Stage ^ Me with my new music crush, lead singer of New Years Day, Ashley, whose acting goofy here. She was super sweet and she puts Avril Lavigne and the rest of those female singers to shame. ^ Me with Ashley again after she insisted on another pic when I walked back by the merch tent. Band #10: Chiodos @ ??? on the Lucky Stage Band #11: Pennywise @ 5:30 on the Lucky Stage Band #12: Authority Zero @ 6:00 on the Ernie Ball Stage Band #13: New Found Glory @ 6:30 on the Lucky Stage All and all, like I said up above, this show was all that I could have imagined it would be. This was also my first Warped Tour as well, but am looking forward to be going to every single one in the coming years. The weather was also brutal, ranging anywhere between 90-98 the entire day. Best Set: Pepper, Coheed & Cambria, New Years Day Worse Set: All Time Low (They were horrendous), Paramore also sucked, and only played 15 mins Money Spent: $15 on 3 bottles of water, $11 on 2 CDs, $35 on 2 Shirts, $15 on parking

seanzarelli
Do you know which one he went to Teb? I believe it went New Mexico on the 12th, San Antonio on the 13th, Dallas on the 14th, and today in Houston

kgbaseball
Sweet, Funeral for a friend seems to be the only good band - I'm seeing thrice in November should be good Thrice is incredible. Artist in the Ambulance is my 2nd all time favorite CD, right behind Incubus' Make Yourself. I'm excited for Thrice's new 4 disc album, whenever it comes out. seanzarelli
I hope Thrice can overcome the terribleness that their last CD was. It was atrocious! But Artist in the Ambulance was amazing.

seanzarelli
Yes, I am a Mets fan, been one since 1990. I just have a huge collection of hats, and I didn't feel like getting my Mets one all sweaty and nasty.

stEdfuNk
yeah Vheissu wasn't that good, the only song I liked on it was Red Sky - Artist in the Ambulance was good, but I liked illusions of safety a bit more... I'm not really a metal guy, but IOS seemed to have like just the right mix of metal, it wasn't hard it was just like mellow.. and youtube Fire Disc Thrice and there's an untitled thrice song from the Fire Disc on their new album and it sounds really good
seanzarelli
Joe, there were moshpits probably every 5 minutes when a band would start playing a new song. I didn't get in any though because I had merch I didn't want ruined and a $250 digital camera. Sted, I'll have to check out the youtube thing for their new song. kgbaseball
Whats with the Pirates hat??, Thought you were a Mets fan (Judging by your avatar) Don't you wear other hats besides a Mets hat? Heck, I have an Indians hat on right now! Getting back to the topic, As Cities Burn was probably the only other band I liked from the pictures. FFAF got way too radio friendly I thought with their "Hours" CD. Coheed's lead singer is annoying as all hell, and Newfound Glory isn't my thing. What other bands were there? seanzarelli
Alesana, All Time Low, Amber Pacific, Anberlin, As Cities Burn, Bad Religion, Bayside, Big D and the Kids Table, Bleed The Dream, Bless The Fall, Boys Like Girls, Chiodos, Circa Survive, Coheed and Cambria, Cute Is What We Aim For, Escape The Fate, Evaline, Family Force Five, Funeral for a friend, Gallows, Haste The Day, I Am Ghost, IainTerry band, It Dies Today, K-OS, Killswitch Engage, Meg and Dia, mxpx, My American Heart CA, New Found Glory, New Years Day, Nothington, Paramore, Parkway Drive, Pennywise, Pepper, Pistolita, Play Radio Play, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Revolution Mother, scary kids scaring kids, Set Your Goals, Street Drum Corps, The automatic, The Dear And Departed, The Fabulous Rudies, The Human Abstract, The Matches, the spill canvas, The Starting Line, The Unseen, The Vincent Black Shadow, Throw The Fight, Throwdown, Tiger Army, Total Chaos, Yellowcard What sucked though is all the bands we wanted to see were all meshed together so we couldn't see all the ones we wanted to. But in passing by stages we managed to catch...Amber Pacific, Haste the Day, Paramore, Killswitch Engage, The Starting Line, and Vincent Black Shadow for about 5-10 mins each...We were going to stay for Anberlin, The Almost and Circa Survive, but we hadn't had anything to eat since 8:30am and NFG finished like right at 7 so we decided to get on the road and head back home. But for the $20 I paid for a ticket, I was more than happy with everyone we saw except All Time Low.
thespungo
I hate to sound like an old music snob, but Warped Tour was way better back when I was in high school about 6 years ago. My first Warped Tour was the best and they slowly declined in fun ever since. It's gotten so commercial and so huge that It's just not fun for me to sweat it out with hundreds and hundreds of other kids in a giant parking lot. (Denver's Warped Tour has been held in the Invesco Field parking lot for every date except my first) The only bands I like from your post are Big D and New Found Glory. The bass player from Big D is quite the character -- always making crazy faces while he plays, so I kind of look forward to seeing them whenever they're with some other good ska bands (I'm not that into Big D, mostly I like their older stuff). Anyways, glad you enjoyed yourself. Was there an MLB tent this year?
MrDudleyDoWright
Don't you wear other hats besides a Mets hat? Heck, I have an Indians hat on right now! I have a Red Rangers hat, But thats old, so....no I have all the hats From the all Blue to the SP one!!
seanzarelli
Oh I am right there with you on the older music. I've actually been getting the Warped Tour Comps since 2002, and I've been able to tell how much it has changed, I just never got the chance to go because of where I lived at the time. And I do agree with you on the commercialism of it as well. It's a shame. I usually tend to not listen to the radio/video friendly bands as well. But to answer your question, no MLB Tent. Also on Big D, both the trombone and the sax player were already drunk when they started, lol.
