B_ballplaya_05 Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 I get this message saying that it has encountered a problem and it needs to close. It's really annoying because it keeps happening frequently. Whenever I would restart a game, like reload the franchise, it would take me to the desktop say when i start the game, once the players are out on the field and I press the button to skip the intros when the game starts. I have the 07 mod installed with Kumala's datafile. I really don't know what the problem is. I'm also using the roster made by Kraw, UR 8.4 Plus edition and there's also the standard edition. I've tried both but the game seems to freeze up anyway. So anyone know a way of getting around this problem? My 2nd issue is timing my hitting when it comes to certain pitches, like changup, curve, or sliders, and fast fastballs. I can't seem to time these and I get struck out a lot because of it. Is there a good way of getting my timing down, well besides practicing. I seem to do ok on Pro, but on All-Star I struggle a lot. I'm even using the sliders to help me out. Use bigGUI to open your models.big file and check to see if any faces are not compressed. If you find one or more, use the Edit function within bigGUI to compress the file(s). Download the file from this link http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=1100.html Extract it to any place you want, such as My Documents. Click on the bigGUI executable (icon), click on File and open the models.big file found in the Data folder. Look though the listings for any files that are not compressed. If you find any files not compressed, click on Edit in bigGui and select Compress. You can do the same thing to check the portrait.big found in Data/frontend folder. Even though I've ran the program bigGUI and checked for the uncompressed files, the game still does the same thing. I've played one full game and then when the 2nd game started the problem came up. It's seems to happen like this every time. If I play the same game over for the 2nd time, it happens. If i play another game after the 1st game it happens. Very strange problem I guess. Other than that, I'm on a 7 game losing streak and not getting better at the moment My latest loss was 7 hits, 1 run. The winning team had like 12 hits, 2 runs and they struck me out like 10 times. I swing by it a lot of times which is really bothering me lol. I don't know what level you play at, but on All-Star level you need to be patient. Know what kind of pitches the guy throws and look for pitches that your batter likes. This is not to say you shouldn't swing at the first pitch, but only when you are prepared for the pitch in the zone where your batter likes; for example, I know Johnny Damon likes the ball inside from a right-handed pitcher and I hold the bat upper right-side prepared for that type of pitch. Now I don't always swing for a home run, you also have to go with the pitch and get base hits. If the pitcher doesn't have good control, be extra patient and getting a walk or two can lead to a big inning. I get to know what type of pitches my hitters like and wait for them. If I strike out waiting or missing, so be it, the next hitter is waiting :-) Until you get better at hitting, you may consider raising the Contact slider, and perhaps the Power slider as well. I taught my brother how to play chess but would never let him win, and he eventually stopped playing against me. The readme.txt didn't help at all. ;( From the TiT README.txt This program does it all for you, after you download the file just select the downloaded file with this program and click "DO IT" Supported archive formats are: 7z, zip, rar, & ace What part do you not understand? The models.big file you downloaded is in one of those formats. When you run the TiT, navigate to the directory you saved the models.big you downloaded and hit the OPEN button. Then hit the DO IT! button. *Now for the 07 Models.big file you downloaded. From the Download page for it: (Make sure you do what is listed below after you install the models.big) This release completely replaces: uniforms.big models.big and updates: initstaz.big TiT will make a backups of these files in case something goes wrong Once installed you will have a "Roster Updaters" folder inside your "extras" folder, use these utilities to update any standard (UR's Plus will work too for the dynasty conversions) roster to a 07 roster This file contains Patch 2 (just the models.big portion) plus May & July updates Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You do not get a roster from the Rosters folder within Extras. What roster do you now have installed? Sliders are a personal preference thing based on what works best for you!
