Vacation

Recommended Posts

I leave tomorrow afternoon for two weeks to Prague and then Israel. I will have internet access in Israel but will probably be very limited, so I'll probably only be able to do things like check my email, that sort of thing.

I've heard Prague is nice, I've never been there. Israel I've been to before, so thats nothing new, but it's always fun for me to go there.

I'm mainly going to be in Tel Aviv which is pretty safe. I won't be taking public transportation, either, and I won't be in too many major areas.

TS, have a great time man. Isreal is a great place. However, your statement is incorrect for two reasons:

1. While Tel Aviv may be on the coast, you are traveling to Isreal- Public Enemy number 1 of the Middel East. There is not one safe place in the country. :toothless:

2. You're going to Tel Aviv, Isreal's major metropolis and business center. Not to mention tourism. EVERYWHERE is a major area in Tel Aviv. :rocklicker:

But again, enjoy the trip and take in as much of the culture that you can!

Bronx_Bum, if you've ever been to Tel Aviv, you would know that it's just like any other big city in that there are safe places and unsafe places. True, most places are pretty dangerous overall, but if you aren't stupid, it's pretty unlikely that you won't get killed.

NICE!

I went to Europe last month, and Prague was BY FAR my favorite city. Berlin was a close second.

Prague is VERY VERY liberal. Keep that im mind when you see absynth at every corner. And also, absynth is NOTHING like what Eurotrip makes it out to be. Its a green "licorice-tasting" alcohol. Tastes AWFUL. You will not hallucinate. It's very touristy, but very beautiful by night. Make sure to walk the bridge at night.

As for Tel-Aviv, make sure you be careful, my man. I've never been there, but the Middle East is very volatile. And it doesn't matter, when you are a toursit, you better be careful....

Hope you have a GREAT time. And even if you HATE soccer. You can't leave Prague without buying a VERY CHEAP Pavel Nedved jersey! He is a HERO.

Be very careful, man. Prague is beatiful and you have to buy a Pavel Nedved jersey. He is a hero even in Italy! Tel-Aviv is not safety but you just have to be careful. Anyway, there's no need to worry.

Hey Z, you went to Europe, I'm wondering if you hit up either Finland, Norway, Sweden or Denmark, as I'm leaving for there on Friday. If you have any ideas hit me up on AIM.

  • 3 weeks later...

Cool! I'm pretty sure I'm going next summer to Israel, most likely Jerusalem, but not the old city, that part actually is dangerous.

Really, If you're not in the middle of the West Bank or the Gaza Strip or Lebanon or Syrian borders, it's not too dangerou, and you could easily take a trip there and not be anywhere really dangerous - I've lived two whole years in Israel, and never been close to a bomb. However, I would occasionally hear them from my bedroom window, but... I was safe. I'm still alive.

Wow, TS, we both got back to our homes on the exact same day. Odd.
