The X-Box 360 Core System & the X-box 360?

Core System: $299

Regular: $399

100 is obviously a lot of money. But I figured you would all know the difference in the two. I read up on both at BestBuy.com, but still can't tell the difference...

no real difference other than the hard drive which is required to save games and the controllers are wired w/ the core system. the hard drive will cost around $100 anyways so you might as well get the premium that already has it as well as the wireless controllers

lol....

so basically, if i get the core system, then i CAN NOT save games?

It's much more effective to spend the next 100 bucks then?

Next question...

Hopefully someone unbiased can answer,

Which should I buy, 360 or PS3?

LOL....I do work 2 jobs...

But a part time hospital job and pizza delivery isn't going to buy myself both of those any time soon. I can buy one soon, on the other hand...

I have both and the 360 wins hands down, I have not even turn the PS3 on in 2 months

Really? Wow....

I like playing Madden & NCAA games online a ton though. How much is this going to cost me to get everything set up...?

I have a wire router with wires underneath the house, but I can just buy a wireless adapter for it I assume?

But the online service will cost me how much a year?

I use a wired setup myself, I can not stand wireless (to slow)

You can get a lot of LIVE for free but to play against other people it is $49.99 a year

I do not play others online so I do not pay the 50 bucks, I get games, demos, tv shows, & movies.

At some point pick up a HD-DVD addon (price will drop to $99 for xmas) it really kicks the **** out of BluRay, plus you can capture HD content from TV & cable and make your own HD-DVD discs on standard DVD9 (they only hold an hour, but it works great for TV shows. I did Dexter, Heroes, & lost last season) discs. BluRay does not allow for this

How do you capture input from cable? I'd like to use it as a recorder since I don't have TiVo or DVR. Make use of my 20 gigs, or 12.9 that they let me use.

May I please butt in and ask: How do I know how much Hard Drive Space I'll need? How big of a file size are your game saves usually?

Saves range from 1-5 MB, it's really nothing much. You can live wihtout the HD, but financially, it's smarter to get it, cause of the wireless controller and the fact that you don't have to use memory cards.

What I was saying was that it's a smart deal to get the one for the extra hundred bucks because you get a 20 gig HD and a wireless controller included. The 20 gig HD has 12.9 (I believe) GB of usable memory. You can alternatively use a memory card which has significantly less memory.

Yep, a wireless controller runs you $30-$40 and a 64MB Memory Card runs you $30...So it's better to go with the Regular Bundle to get the 20GB HD and the wireless controller...

BTW, I say go with a 360 even if it costs $50 a year to play online. At least you know you don't have to worry about all the lamers that play on PS Online for free just because they can...

I'd give you my gamertag, but like Kraw, I hate playing online.

My cable box has a firewire port, I can record anything I'm watching with my PC

game demos can be like 1 GIG

game save are pretty small 1-5 MB

TV shows/movies are HUGE

you can buy a 120 gig laptop drive and make the 360 except it, that is what I did and saves like $100

You use regular TV Tuner software? Anything specific?

I was never aware what my FW port on the cable box was for.

just a PC firewire card, I picked one up 4-5 years ago for my camcorder and it is still the one I use
