roadranger
i had a few problems editing portraits in photoshop with kraw's portrait tutorial, but i solved all of the problems but one. i go through the whole process of editing, resizing, etc of the portrait and alpha and everything comes out great, just like it shows in the tutorial, but when i go into mvp edit, click on the photo and put in my edited portrait and alpha and click OK, the portrait just goes back to what it was and doesn't put in the new portrait. initially, i saved the portrait as the player id # in 24-bit .bmp and the alpha as the player id #a in 8-bit .bmp, but then i thought that may be the problem because the mvp edit portraits are the 4-digit mvp id #'s, so i changed and saved them as that (as an example: matt garza 6785.bmp and 6785a.bmp), but that didn't work either. anybody out there have a solution? i sent kraw a couple of personal messages, but he hasn't answered, so i thought, until he sends a reply, i thought i'd check and see if anyone else had an answer or solution
kgbaseball
You can't replace a 1x portrait with a 2x portrait (and vice versa) in MVPEdit unless you delete the FSH. You don't have "Export 2x Portraits" checked in the Options if you're trying to install a 2x portrait. It doesn't matter what you call the files. It just matters that they're bmp's and that one is 24 bit and the alpha is 8 bit grayscale.
roadranger
thanks kg. i checked the export 2x and it worked. do i still have to delete the .fsh to make it work in the game
kgbaseball
As long as you see the portrait in MVPEdit, it should be fine.
roadranger
thanks kg. it's works great. now i just need to find some updated photos of orlando hernandez, aaron boone, tomo ohka, rob bowen, adam kennedy, and jesse litsch. i can't seem to get the small photos of them on the espn site or the cbs sportsline site to work when i try to edit them in photoshop. the photos of these players in mlb.com/pressbox has them wearing their unis from their previous teams. redsox
You would have to edit the hats yourself. Here's a tutorial that shows you exactly how to swap the hats yourself. I think KG should be coming out with an updated portrait set, most likely after the trade deadline (not sure though). Anyway, here's the link to the hat swapping tutorial. http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3378.html
