wikitundra
I m playing mvp level and my pitchers regularly bean batters while using the slider. I checked control of two examples. One guys control was a 63 while the other was a 95 for their slider. Pitching control slider is at 50. I reviewed the two datafile references, and I am at a loss as to what to change. Is anyone aware of an entry which will help decrease the break of this particular pitch? I had 5 HBP in one game. Since I do not have issues with the other pitch types, I am hoping it is just a simple datafile edit. Seasrching the forums did not help... I came up with these possible edits but do not want to totally screw up my datafile. Other than the slider issue, I really like it: 0x7c9e6865 HitByPitchVol% up/down or not related? 0x6f618f85 UseWildThrow not sure of this one as my slider is the only pitch I am having issues with or 0x7a17f3a4 17 Pitch3Type1 17 slider 18 Pitch3PosX 18 0.00 19 Pitch3PosY 19 5.00 This was not an issue for me last year. I am using UR8.5. I would rather not perform a global edit on the control of the slider if there is a simpler datafile edit out there. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Maestro23
These two files will help you dig into the mysteries of the datafile: Snepp's Datafile.txt Layout Spreadsheet: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=149.html RRodkey's Datafile tutorial: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=161.html If you've already looked at these, then disregard. Good luck man.
wikitundra
Yup.... these are great references. I highly recommend them to everyone. The only downside is too much info. There are so many variables. I could fix my slider issue and then mess up something else. Hopefully the datafile gods on this board can point me in the right direction. Right now, I am at a loss to throw a slider with confidence - and that sucks. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply though....
wikitundra
searching the forums and found this.... 43 ControlAffect default is at 0.600 Would adjusting this help with my slider issue? If so, should I edit up or down. Thanks again...
big shmooz
If you want more control then up the number. However the problem to me sounds more like the movement on the pitch as opposed to a control issue. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. wikitundra
Still playing around with this one and still beaning batters. I wanted to pursue adjusting movement. I was unable to locate movement variables in the datafile spreadsheet. Would you have any theories on what I should modify? Thanks in advance... compmaniac
Does the datafile fix more than what the sliders can fix? Like can you make the other team be more patient at the plate in the datafile?
wikitundra
Getting a little desperate with this one as this slider pitch issue is driving me nuts. Here are my edits so far: 41 BallFastballEff 2.00 40 BallbreakingEff 1.10 1 BestPitches 150 2 WorstPitches 150 16 HitByPitchVol% 0.10 17 Pitch3Type1 slider 18 Pitch3Posx 0.0 19 Pitch3Pos& 5.0 43 ControlAffect 0.750 26 PitchLoc 65 If you see anything wierd with these, please reply. How should I edit this line to change the physics of this pitch to not break so much into the batter: 0xf245603 3 15 1 MinSpinRPM 2 MaxSpinRPM 0 Fatigue 0x1bfde628 3<slider> 0 1.00 1 1000.0 2 1800.0 Or should I just lower the movement in MVPEdit? The weird part is some of my pitchers have between 5 - 9 movement on there sliders. Very hard to pin down what is exactly going on. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
