seanzarelli
Drogalis K's 14 as Royals Pound Red Sox in Season Opener By: Jake Blaze The Kansas City Crown So here it was, time for Mike Drogalis to make the very first start of his rookie campaign on Opening Day against the ever so frightening Boston Red Sox. With nerves and excitement, Drogalis fired a first pitch 93 MPH Fastball painting the black for a called strike against Boston leadoff hitter Julio Lugo. And with that strike, it set the tone for Drogalis' domination of the Red Sox. At one point, Drogalis struck out 6 in a row before surrendering his only walk of the day to Dustin Pedroia on a questonable called ball which should have been a strike. Drogalis also struck the side out twice, both in the 7th and 9th innings. When asked about the performance of Drogalis, manager Colton Madrox replied, "I was very impressed in the way he [Drogalis] pitched today. He came to the park ready to perform as the Ace of our team and did just that." Drogalis also showed no fear going further and further into the game. At one point he challenged David "Big Papi" Ortiz with three straight fastballs in Ortiz's power zone and got him swinging for the strike out. On the offensive side of things, every Royals starter except 2muchclutch was able to get a hit off the combination of Red Sox pitchers of Curt Schilling and Kyle Snyder. The first run of the game came as left fielder d1git4l cha0s powered the ball to right field leading to an RBI triple scoring Aman Mathur, cha0s would not score though as the following 2 batters hit grounders right to Red Sox thirdbaseman Mike Lowell. With constant contact to the gap, the Royals were also able to put on run on the scoreboard in both the 3rd and 4th innings. Then in the 5th, the Royals put a nice little rally together as they scored 4 runs, but had the inning end when Federico Superciuc tried turning a double into a triple but was gunned down at the last second. The Royals went on to score a couple more runs with more contact. "I was surprised at how much these young guys scored on our ace [Curt] Schilling," said Red Sox skipper Terry Francona. "They put 9 runs on us without even coming close to hitting a homerun, hopefully tomorrow we can contain these guys [the Royals] a little more." However, even though the Royals seemed to roll on all cylinders, there were some bitter words between d1git4l cha0s and Chris Kelvarr after cha0s had gotten thrown out at 2nd from a late jump after a ball in the dirt, ending both the inning and according to Kelvarr, the chance for an RBI opportunity had cha0s made it safely in which he should have. The tempers were gone though as both men eventually sat on the bench and talked things out. ^ Drogalis' first strikeout of the season ^ cha0s hits an RBI triple ^Kraw plays Superman to rob Youkilis of a basehit Royals Player of the Game: Mike Drogalis - 9IP, 3H, 0ER, 14K d1git4l cha0s - 2-2, 3 RBI Royals Dud of the Game: Tim 2muchclutch - 0-4, 1K Boxscore Link http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores/use...l_cha0s/KC1.htm
redsox
Man, 14 SO. That's amazing. This is definitely going to be a great season for the Royals. One suggestion, though this maybe too much work - are you planning on maybe reducing the stats of certain players who do poorly and likewise raise the stats for those who do great. seanzarelli
Yes, I pinch hit for you Kraw because it was a blowout, only reason. I even put a pinch runner in for myself and I have good speed. BTW, I want this to have a lot of user interaction for storylines, you can PM me about being an upset player, a cocky player, etc. and I will do interviews and reports and stuff for things you say, just to make this even more interesting. seanzarelli
2much, it's alright bud, don't cry, you'll come around, lol. D-Unit, I was mixing them up like crazy. I was constantly moving around the plate with different pitches, but I seemed to get the most strikeouts with the 2 seam. That's the pitch that ended the game, you blowing one right by Manny as he just stood there and watched it.

seanzarelli
1 Hit, 1 Run, 1 Win By: Jake Blaze The Kansas City Crown Thanks to Federico Superciuc, the Royals go on to win. In the bottom of the 4th, Superciuc connected with a Josh Beckett fastball sending it over the left center wall at a distance of 420 feet and recording the only hit for the team. The rest of the game didn't quite go how the Royals had prefered it to though. Sure they were able to rack up 7 walks, but without being able to get hits like yesterday afternoon, they struggled and were leaving men on left and right. "I don't know what was wrong with us today, maybe we stayed up too late last night partying after our first win, or maybe we came in thinking it'd be another cakewalk like yesterday's game." said Colton Madrox. However, even though the hitting game wasn't there, Kansas City Royals starter and bullpen limited the Sox to a mere 5 hits and were able to shut them out once again. Tomorrow the Royals hope to close out the series with a sweep as Bonny takes on the Japanese prodigy of Daisuke Matsuzaka. ^ Superciuc's connect for a Homerun ^ Slater makes a nice play to keep Lugo off base Royals Player of the Game: Federico Superciuc - 1-2, 1 HR Royals Dud of the Game: The rest of the team - 0-22 Boxscore Link http://dynasties.mvpmods.com/boxscores/use...l_cha0s/KC2.htm
