Ghostrider
Then make sure: 1. You do the hokey pokey 2. And you turn yourself around That's what it's all about!
Maestro23
You place it in your data folder. Just in case red, you never know. C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005data
Rafting_96
but I see in my datafile a file called datafile.big, Kumala datafile is .txt
Ghostrider
Not in the datafile folder, but the data folder. The datafile.big stays in that datafile folder and needs to be left alone. Just put the datafile.txt in the C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005data folder.
kgbaseball
The .txt overwrites it. The .big file is the original datafile that came with the game. Placing a datafile.txt in your /data folder overwrites it.
Rafting_96
Ok, Thanks one more question, which datafile has more accuracy to reality
Maestro23
Ok, Thanks one more question, which datafile has more accuracy to reality Depends on your play-style and what you consider realistic. I would download a couple in the Downloads section and try them out each for a few games. Remember that difficulty level and sliders will play a part as well. I use Kumala's latest datafile and Hoop's All-Star sliders for my Cubs' dynasty.
Ghostrider
I use MD's Datafile with Hoop's All-Star Sliders and I routinely get my @$$ handed to me by the computer.
Rafting_96
Which program should I use to edit the datafile.txt?
Maestro23
Which program should I use to edit the datafile.txt? Any text editor will work. You first have to un-compress it using a program like DFcomputil or eazip. Make your changes then compress it back. If you have never cracked open a datafile, I would suggest checking out the following 2 links: Snepp's Datafile.txt Layout Spreadsheet: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=149.html RRodkey's Datafile Tutorial: http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=161.html
