Anyone feel like rating my first fantasy drafted dynasty?

I've done fantasy drafts before, none serious where I was going to do a dynasty on it before but I wanted to do a dynasty and said, eh what the heck....this was using KG's roster 3.0 with the D-Rays if it matters......

Lineup:

SS - Michael Young

C - Jose Mauer

1B - Albert Pujols

3B - Mark Teixera (from 1B)

DH - Troy Glaus

RF - Juan Rivera

2B - Robinson Cano

LF - Ryan Theriot (from 2B)

CF - Juan Pierre

Bench:

C - Vance Wilson

3B/UT - Erik Hinske

2B/IF - Aaron Hill (may platoon with Cano vs. lefties)

OF - Joey Gathright (Gotta love the speed)

Pitching Staff:

SP - Josh Beckett

SP - James Shields

SP - Orlando Hernandez

SP - Oliver Perez (LHP)

SP - Jason Marquis

LR - Chalie Haeger

MR - Damaso Marte (LHP)

MR - Matt Guerrier

MR - Jimmy Gobble (LHP)

MR - Neil Cotts (LHP)

SU - Justin Duchscherer

CP - Chris Ray

I tried to go for big hitting first being as I think it's harder to fill out your team with starters after going with pitching first (At least IMO) I think I drafted my entire lineup before looking at a pitcher.

In the Minors I'm ranked 2nd or 1st at every level in pitching and the top 5 overall at least in every level about. I got about 6-10 top 100s scattered around my system.

Any opinions or suggestions? I put Teixera at 3rd figuring he used to play there a bit and he's a better fielder than Glaus. My other option is put him at DH, and Glaus at 3B. I put Theriot in LF figuring since I play in a stadium with a big LF he can cover it (owner mode stadium). I like my bench too, Hinski can play 1st, 3rd and OF and hits RHPs, and Aaron Hill is very good against LHP, and Gathriight has the speed to pinch run and play defense.

I also think my bullpen is very strong, at least moreso than my rotation. So far Josh Beckett has been bombed in both of his starts :headache:. But other than that my pitching has been decent. I think I'm ranked 1st in batting, 30th in pitching and in the middle in defence and 3rd in speed, for 12th overall, I had the top pick so it's okay I guess.

Talk about an All Star lineup!

Your 3-5 starters are all question marks. Your bench looks real good; a solid backup C, a couple of utility infielders, and an outfielder who can play anywhere, and can also be used as a pinch runner.

I think I would've gone more towards pitching, but maybe you won't have to worry about it with your lineup.

That looks awesome--are you going to post a full dynasty, or just report the results?

I guess I could post updates and what not if enough people get interested, I don't know though......

Be prepared for a roller coaster season with that pitching staff. I hope you've got some good arms in the minors, because that staff is going to be quite the adventure.

Your lineup is awesome though! However, I'd play Teixeira at first base since he is a gold glover over there, and put either Pujols or Glaus at third base. Pujols started his career as a third baseman, but it'd probably be more realistic if you used him as your DH in games against the AL and put Glaus in the field, then in the Interleague games you can have a rotation of Glaus, Pujols, and Teixiera at the corners.

Why do you want other people to rate your dynasty? I say, play the game the way you want to and have fun. That's all that matters...

Good luck for this dynasty!

You have a point there, but Teixiera has a stronger arm and I personally thinks he's more athletic to play 3rd than either Glaus or Pujols. Also Pujols won the NL Gold Glove at first last year, so it really doesn't make a difference who plays first. It's nice to have both gold glove 1st baseman from last year who can hit 40 homers on your team. :)

I see what your saying, but I'm just wondering what other people think about how I did and see if they have any ideas and/or comments.

On other matters I'm 5-4 now and a half game up in first place. Both Troy Glaus and Mark Teixiera have 3 home runs so far and the only other homer for us was produced by Joe Mauer who is otherwise struggling at the plate. Oliver Perez just turned in a beaty pitching into the 9th inning before being removed for Chris Ray, leaving with a 4-0 lead. Oddly so far we have thrived on great pitching (minus Josh Beckett and El Duque :headache: ). Our offense has been struggling to get it going, but unleashed 14 hits in the four to one win over the Orioles to help raise the team batting average from the horrendous .247 they have only managed to hit thus far.

Down in the Minors we have a very decent AAA pitching staff highlighted by Phil Hughes, Chad Gauden, Gavin Floyd, and Matt Chico, with Tyler Johnson , Brian Bruney, and Randy Messenger in the pen. Top prospect Kurt Suzuki catches; and providing depth in case of injury for the big leage club are infielders Ben Zobrist, Tony Pena Jr, and Ryan Roberts.

Who is Jose Mauer?

Never heard of that cat before.

Lineup seems pretty solid though.

Small little update.....

We're currently tied for first place about 20 or so games in, our offense is starting to come around and the pitching is staying strong.

Albert Pujols just had a breakout game (is there such a thing?); with only one homerun thusfar, he hit two in one game, the first coming earlier to put us ahead 1-0, and then after allowing a solo shot we were down 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth, first pitch he sees from Francisco Cordero he crushes into the left field bleachers to tie it up. Although we are riding on the likes of Troy Glaus (7 HR, 15 RBI) and Mark Teixiera (5 HR 9 RBI), much of our other players are struggling. Juan Pierre, Michael Young (although fresh off a two HR game), Ryan Theriot, and Joe Mauer are all sitting around the mendoza line for the year.

The bullpen has been lights-out so far (mostly...). Justin Duscherer has allowed one hit in 8+ innings of work to set up for Chris Ray, and Matt Guerrer has worked the most games of the entire staff. Damaso Marte has also been dominate, not allowing a run yet.

On a side note I've been playing our home games in a sweet owner mode stadium, but I noticed there is too much lag when there our runners on base (Mybe explaining Josh Beckett's 11+ ERA? Our inconsistant offense? Idk...), So I moved to PNC park (I love that stadium, if I could do it all over I would have been the Pirates....). Anyone else notice the lag with an owner mode stadium?
