WVU9
Ok, I think I finally solved the problem with adding uniforms to MVP 07 and the answer isn't Installer Thingy or Uniform Editor 2006... it's a combination of both. What I found through trial and big errors is that when you add a uniform in Editor and then click on the lightning bolt to have it put swap out the uniform.big and models.big it doesn't always compress and so then the game crashes. So that won't work. Installer Thingy works great but there is limited customization (i.e. picking of uniform slots) that is tedious without a graphical interface such as Uni Editor provides. However, I thought, what if I could get Uni Editors model and uniform files and then run it through TiT and have it compress it.... and it works like a charm. Here's how.... 1)Have Uniform Editor and Total Installer Thingy installed. TiT of course goes in your game folder but I put Uniform Editor in a folder called 'Uni Edit' just for ease of location. 2)Go into Uni Editor and add all the uniforms you want as normal.... DO NOT click the lightning bolt icon that would otherwise install the files directly. 3)When you are done adding your uniforms, close out of Uniform Editor. In the Uni Edit folder you will see a copy of models.big and uniforms.big. Select both and COPY each... again for ease, I copied them right into my MVP 07 folder. 4)In the MVP 07 folder, keeping those two files selected, create and archive. I make .rar files and so make one called 'uni.rar' or whatever... just so you are compressing the two files into a .rar. This will take about 5 minutes to write cuz models.big is a large file. 5)Once you have the .rar file you now have something that TiT can work with. Open TiT, point it to your 'uni.rar' file and let it do it's work. 6)Be patient... it will take it a few to unpack the files. I advise not doing anything until the EAMods>Treasury web page comes up letting you know that TiT has finished. 7)Run your game. Your uniforms are just where you put them! I'm not sure this is 100% always going to work but in the 4 trial runs I've done with it it has worked every time. I think the problem with Uniform Editor is it not compressing correctly but thanks to the miracle of TiT, it does the compressing for you and you end up with a file that works! Hope this helps! arossi12
It's easier if you just install the uniforms and fonts into models.big, then just edit the uniforms.big select screen files manually. There's a tutorial by bigbully somewhere around here, and it would save a ton of time.
WVU9
I didn't realize there was a problem installing uniforms in MVP '07. I have never had a problem. Yep... it won't compress some uniform files correctly and will cause the game to crash. If it hasn't happened to you then you just got lucky. I've had it work 3 times and crash on the fourth and I've had it crash on the first try. It's all in what you're installing. But yes, MVP Studio: Uniform Editor is in need of a tune-up so it will work with MVP 07.
Micropterus58
I've had problems installing uniforms in MVP07 also. Thru trial and error I use a batch file that uses EAZip.exe to install the numbers and uniforms into models.big. I use Kraw's Installer to add the uniform previews to uniforms.big. I haven't used TIT since my method is working. Different programs seem to work for different people.
big shmooz
The problem is in mvp studio 2006 version. However if you use the older version it works fine. (except that you have the gfxpak problem with too many files) But the workaround for that is to use a fresh models.big file in the mvp studio folder & then manually reinstall just the uniform files into the correct models.big. (in your case the 07 mod version)
WVU9
Thanks for the help! I managed to get the uniforms I really cared about having in the game in there so I'm good! But maybe Fuzz will bless us with an updated and debugged version of Studio... one can hope, can't they?
DJEagles
I mean no disrespect to you, and appreciate the fact that you took the time to post a solution, but for the most part, I believe you are in the minority when it comes to having problems installing uniforms. How do you install uniforms? The reason I ask is, because if you use mvp Studio's latest version, (2006) the screen will hang after installing about 3 uniforms. Homer
i just use TiT to install them. works fine. i liked mvpstudio because of the interface and the concept of it, but it just doesn't work without exchanging the models.big file.

When you say 'exchanging the models.big file' what exactly do you mean? Okay, my bad, I have never used mvpstudio to install uniforms. Good work WVU9, and like I said, I meant no disrespect to you. None taken and none inferred. I just thought that maybe someone else was having trouble (apparently so) and that maybe someone had a workable solution (also apparently so). Good news all around! Homer
just as big schmooz referred to in an earlier post. mvpstudio has it's folder where it has it's own models.big file. you have switch it out with a fresh version to use the program and use an alternate route to install into your models.big. WVU9
Ok, I finally pinpointed the EXACT problem with the models.big file when using MVP Studio... it gets corrupted because it leaves out 3 basic faces when it installs to your directory. (Using MVP Editor I found out it leaves out faces 901, 902 & 903). This will cause the faces to appear 'white' in the game and will 99% of the time crash your game. Here's the fix I've used that has worked well up to this point... 1)Use MVP studio to install uniforms, then have it import those files into your game file 2)Using bigGUI open the models.big file in your MVP folder 3)Import the 3 files for the faces (g001, g002, g003... each has 3 files for a total of 9 you need to import) 4)After importing them, find them in bigGUI and compress the 9 files 5)Press the rebuild button on bigGUI and you're done So far this seems to have corrected any crash problems and I've been able to install 20+ uniforms with no problem since :spin:
fookes
Question...Tried to add one of Spungo's 256x256 batting glove .bmp files to a current uniform for the cubbie, and when I run nfshtool on the index.fsh file to close it up it gives me an mismatch error since the current batting glove models are 128x128. Anyway to get around this?
Homer
open the index file with wordpad. find the line that has the bmp number that coordinates with the batting glove. change the dimensions and save it.
big shmooz
4)After importing them, find them in bigGUI and compress the 9 files 5)Press the rebuild button on bigGUI and you're done So far this seems to have corrected any crash problems and I've been able to install 20+ uniforms with no problem since :spin: Don't do that. Use eazip instead to compress the files before you install them. Then useeagraph instead to install. & for sure do not press the rebuild button in biggui. This will cause your models.big file to corrupt. Edit... The problem with mvpstudio is not that the game crashes. Rather it is that mvp studio "hangs" after installing 3 uniforms. You can't even get to the point where you can install the models.big file to the data folder.
