the animations on game models, are applied directly to the vertices (up until new technology being used this year) which means adding new vertices would throw things off. The new verts would have no animation saved in them, which leads me to believe they would be static during gameplay and not move with the rest of the model. It could also screw things up with your UV layouts (texture layout) as well, though you might be able to work around that.

head/facial animations include more than just a player opening his mouth. It also includes the head turning and rotating during a swing or a throw or a dive, etc. I don't see it being possible. Feel free to prove me wrong, but in my experiences I don't believe it will work.

its def not possible at all?

you never know where we could be in a couple months

what are the limitations of the demo?

even if this doesn't do anything for MVP, it's still pretty neat

try some other players

with the demo u cant save ur work at all and it only comes with a few options like adding hair and stuff umm otherwise u can do most anything.

just adding on to this:

yeah pretty much. theres a good chance that would happen, or some vertices in the head moving and not others. It would probably cause problems.

Philly- There really wouldn't be a point to doing that. You would just end up with the models that are currently in the game. They are very efficient with their usage of polygons to maximize the gameplay. The game models rely heavily on the texture map that is applied to them, rather than on the actual game model. The biggest strides can be made in texturing, if it is possible to increase the resolution of the in game textures without crashing the game.

even if we're not able to convert these, maybe at the very least we could do is use it for low quality or difficult pictures to make the texture. are we able to zoom in on these? if so you could zoom in as much as possible and suddenly have a decent picture to start making your textures with.

Homer.... Now you're talking! That's a great use for it. It might be able to help bridge the gap better between somebody with a big grin on their face and the default disposition that we need for good texturing.

There was a really big thread on face gen a while ago. I might be able to pull up a link.

http://www.mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=...5/start=15.html

Yeah I started that topic but realized later that we cannot save it to MVP format files. The thing is I thought at least we can use the head face to avoid the smiling Photo. And the face texture will be consistent instead of blurry photo we get from older generation players.

that would be great. So you basically take a photo, use facegen to generate a face as seen in the clip, and then use that to make your fsh file?
