truegameplayer
I want to apologize right off because I'm sure I'm doing something completely stupid, I've searched the forums for help but so far nothing works. I just acquired this game the other day and am totally new to all of this. The only thing I want to do is have updated rosters, no field mods, no new stadiums, none of that.. Just the updated roster. I have downloaded the file "19852_4.0 Standard", which I believe is the KG 4.0 roster update. I unzipped it and read the readme, and have a folder on my desktop named 4.0 standard. I went into the rosters/database folder from the file, copied all of the .dat files in there... Then I went to my C:Program Files/EA Sports/MVP Baseball 2005/data/database folder, and pasted all the .dat files from the download there. It asked me if I wanted to overwrite all the files, I clicked yes. Then I started the game, went to play an exibition, and the rosters were updated, YAY.... Then I clicked to play, and the game crashed. What am I doing wrong, and again, I apologize for my ignorance...

KG's 4.0 rosters only work with the MVP 07 modification. http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3771.html http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3971.html If you have those installed, let me know and I'll think of what else could be wrong. Ghostrider
Hold on. What you might want to do is reinstall MVP 2005 and THEN install the MVP 07 total conversion modifications. You already changed those .dat files so you should probably start with a fresh install. No sense in complicating things. Uninstall the game first! Then re-install and apply the MVP 07 mod and the MVP 07 patch! Make sure you select KG's roster for the roster option (it will make things easier for you). After both MVP 07 mods are installed you can put KG's 4.0 standard rosters on there.
Ghostrider
FYI, the MVP 07 mod includes updated stadiums, uniforms, and some other modifications which you can read about in the README as well as in the forum.

I just read about that from the links you gave me and that sounds great. I just didn't want to mess with too many files if I didn't have to because I'm just getting used to PC gaming and didn't want to screw anything up. Which obviously I did, lol. Thank you so much, the mods are downloading now. I have to go to work so I won't be able to install until late tonight, but I'll definitely write back and let you know how it goes. I will do as you ask and uninstall completely and start from scratch. I can't thank you enough!!

Everything works perfect now. This is amazing, absolutely amazing. I can't thank you enough. EA never has to make another game so long as all the people can do good work like this. Fantastic. Brew_Crew08
Wow. I have problems with rosters. All I have ever wanted was new rosters, so I tried to install rosters, and did that. But, when I go to start a game, the game crashes right before the first pitch.
