The Big Ticket Heads to Boston

Not domination, but the Bill Simmons article over KG coming to Boston made a lot of good points. I think Ray Allen, KG, and Pierce will play pretty well together. I think a lot of this hinges on the development of Rajon Rondo.

celtics gave up alot. All 3 are over 30 years old and all of them are shooters. Where is the young talent that is going to replace these 3 guys. Celtics are now like yankees; veteran players with huge contracts and sucky farm system.

It doesn't matter tha much about young talent because it's not MLB, where drafting guys makes an impact 2-3 years later. Draft well enough, and you can get impact players that same year and the year after that, while not being in the lottery. Ask San Antonio. They are mortgaging the future, but Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Bassy Telfair, and two picks aren't going to sink them, not to mention they got a pick back. Telfair is on his way out, Gomes isn't that great, and Gerald Green is a scorer 100%, and even he isn't that great at that. I just wish the Celtics didn't have to get rid of Jefferson.

Besides, does it matter mortgaging your future if you're not going to win without Pierce? The lack of veteran leadership has killed Boston. Now, they have 3 guys who fill each other's weaknesses. Garnett, Pierce, and Allen are going to play great together.

What's weird is that the Minnesota roster is essentially what Boston's would be if they had kept players and drafted better.
