tinpanalley
I installed the FOX overlay which comes with its own installer. I didn't like it at all. The game's pop up windows with info and so on go by way to fast. I just want to get back to the way I had it. Is there a way to do that? Anyone kow what this thing does when it installs so I can reverse the process? http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=4089.html Thanks for any advice. tinpanalley
overlay swapper is your best friend. Well, yes, but not in this case. The FOX overlay is actually a self install executable file that goes through and changes lots of things including the desktop icons. So, to fix this... First, I installed a version of the 07 mod to another directory. Then, I looked at the bat file for the FOX overlay and replaced all those files that the bat file mentions changes to with files from the 07 mod reinstall directory. But there's still things that aren't getting changed. So, question: I want to keep my season, I want to keep my rosters and changes. If I reinstall the whole thing, can I bring those things back into the game? As far as backing up goes, yes, I always backup. The problem with this self installer is that it doesn't tell you anywhere what files are going to be changed. It just goes through and changes a bunch of things It's actually quite confusing. Anyway, guys, just thought someone might have some ideas. Please help me out if you can.

Backup the following. - the save files in My Documents - the models.big (if you had modified it) - the portrait.big (if you had modified it) - the stadium files (if you have added any updated stadiums) Un-installing the game, will not delete the save files from the My Documents folder, but do back them up as a precautionary measure. If you haven't modified the models.big and had just used one that either came with the 07 mod or you downloaded the file from this website, then you wouldn't have to back up that file. tinpanalley
Right, that's what I figured. I figured as long as all the things I wanted to maintain were "add-ons" (stadiums, rosters, seasons, things in the My Documents folder, or downloads from the site) then reinstalling the program itself should be fine. Now, if you have the time, some very brief definitions for these files would be tremendously appreciated. Just to know exactly what they're responsible for in the game: 1. models.big 2. portrait.big Thanks.

redsox
models.big - the majority of the files inside this are the cyberfaces that you see in the game - players and managers alike. It also contains the uniform files as well as the generic face files. portraits.big - contains the portraits that you see on the players in the game. tinpanalley
So, what do you suggest, guys? Do I have to uninstall the whole game and backup those items or can I just reinstall over the current one? If I do start from scratch is this the order of operations? 1. MVP 2005 install 2. Patch #5 3. MVP 07 mod 4. MVP 07 mod patch2 Also, will i have to run the 07 maker again to get my season back? Or will I be able to just load my season straight up? That is just a SFX RAR archive it just runs a batch file when it is done extracting, if you do not want to run the EXE you can unpack it with winRAR

Also, you wouldn't have to run the 07 maker again as you will be continuing your current dynasty correct? If so, all you would have to do is to load the dynasty file and everything should be good. Make sure that you backup the models.big file and the save files in your my documents folder. Also, if you were using the models.big that came with the 07 mod, I would then suggest you download the latest one that goes along with the 07 mod and your current roster. Hope this helps. Take care.
