Johnson989
The Season Starts Now The players have been training for it for months, and now it is here. A new slate for the Houston Astros. The Astros come out of spring training, trying to recreate that 2005 season when they got to the World Series, only to be swept by the White Sox. The Astros had their ace, Roy Oswalt, going for them on Opening Day. He faced off against the lefty Zach Duke. Houston got started quickly in the first. Craig Biggio started the inning with a double to the right center gap, then Hunter Pence grounded out to second moving Biggio to third. That brought up Lane Berkman who delieved with a sac fly to deep right, scoring Biggio from third. Most of Pittsburgh's offense was made by Chris Duffy and Jason Bay. The two combined for 6 of the team's 9 hits, and Duffy had the only run, a homer in the third. It only took rookie Hunter Pence two at bats before he hit his first MLB homerun to left.
