Using Fraps With MVP 2005...

Has anyone ever used Fraps video capture with MVP 2005?

I am running WindowsXP with 2 gigs of ram, Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 gig CPU, Nvidia 7950 GT 512 MB video card, and a Creative Audigy 2 sound card, and a 24" LCD monitor just to mention the main stuff.

I just purchased the latest version of Fraps and when I try to do a video capture in full or even half size it is so choppy I can't even play the game. I know Fraps will slow it down a little when it's minimized but not this much! (Especially with my system speed.)

So, has anyone ever used Fraps with MVP 2005 and tried to do a video capture and experienced this problem? And if so, how, if, were you able to correct this issue? (Maybe a setup issue?)

Any help on this greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Cheers!!!

NOTE: I emailed Fraps about this and never got an answer. :headache:

WOW!!! I'll tell you what, if it won't get any better than this, I'm going to be VERY pissed off!!!!! But i guess it's my own fault. I tried the free version and it was choppy too but I thought it was because it was free and couldn't make any adjustments to it. And, their tech support is pathetic!!!

Cheers!!!

well I made 2 videos for the dynasty I had and it was very annoying recording the videos in slow motion... I don't know how it works for KC because he makes very good videos.

Run disk defragmenter, update your drivers, and check the release notes for Fraps and see what they changed

will do also what kind of drivers? (Graphics card? etc?)

Yea. I already had updated my Nvidia video drivers to the latest "official" version of 162.18, ran defrag, and checked the Fraps release notes but nothing new in those, (I don't think). Still having same problems....... I am completely lost. Heeeeeelp!!!! LOL!!!!

P.S. I chose 30fps in the video capture options.

yeah it sucks. i won't use it because it bogs down my system. i've often wanted to use it to video a cyberface making tutorial, but i just can't with how slow things are. good luck. but let us know if you find a solution.

Wow, Maestro is the clutchest of the clutch. I just installed that, and it works great! It slows my game down just a tad, so I think I'm going to try the Lite version.

I discovered that little program over the weekend.

I like it so far. Might even get some vids into my Cubs dynasty now(Using your rosters).

I see you got the website up and running. Good stuff KG. :wtg:

wow maestro, i'm more and more impressed with the help you provide each time. if this works like it sounds, i'm pretty stoked. i really can't wait to get my system fixed now to test it. if it works, watch for a tutorial. question though with this video capturing stuff...is there any way to add subtitles to it so i can add my instructions in?

I downloaded it and it works great but no sound. I guess you have to buy a registered version to get sound........I'll fix that!!! LOL!!!!!!!!

Cheers!!!

NOTE: I bought Fraps and I'm calling my credit card company first thing tomorrow morning and cancelling the payment. That thing really sucks!!!

KG, my guess is that it's the codec your using. Which are you encoding with?

You need a codec that's more file size than quality, because sites like youtube re-encode the video to be even smaller. So by having a smaller file size, there's less compressing going on.
