Joba Chamberlain made his first start for us today. He was lights out in AAA just like Andy Phillips and Tyler Clippard, so we decided to give them a chance in the majors. It wasn't the best performance by Joba, but he still getting used to pitching against big league hitters. He went 6 innings giving up 7 earned runs, then his minor league teammate, Tyler Clippard came in. He went 3 innings giving up 2 runs.

Our bullpen blew today's game. After Pavano's 7 innings of 1 run ball, Farnsworth and Capuano came in and gave up 7 runs between each other. We scored 1 run in the final inning, making the score 8-1. Today is one of those days I wish never happened. Not only did we lose 8-1, we also were 3 hit.

I have been really unhappy with Mike Mussina's 2007 season. He is not producting the way we want him to. If he isn't able to turn it around soon, I wont have a choice but to trade him. We lost to another blowout 10-3. 6 of the 10 runs given up were charged to Mussina. His ERA is up to 6.23. Hopefully, he can turn this around.

We should be able to beat this team with no problem with our ace on the mound. But, once again, we arent. Wang went 3.2 innings pitched giving up 7 earned runs. Thank god for Matt DeSalvo, he has been lights out this year. DeSalvo pitched 4.1 innings giving up no earned runs. He has lowered his ERA down to 0.91. It was another bad start for Chien-Ming Wang today. He went 4.2 innings giving up 7 earned runs. Our offense didnt help out much, besides a Jason Giambi home run, his 14th of the season. 9. Ray Aguilar

Tonight's game was all about the longball. There were a total of 6 home runs, 5 from Atlanta, 1 from us. Jason Giambi hit it for us coming off the bench to pinch hit for Mike Mussina. Mussina went 2.2 innings, giving up 8 earned runs. I think its his age and his velocity is decreasing. He's been hit hard so far this season, which isn't a good sign.

Atlanta embarrased us this weekend...We lost this game on a walkoff homerun by Brian McCann. Chris Capuano hasn't been pitching to great ever since we signed him during the offseason. We have an off day tomorrow to get our minds straight and then we begin a 6 game homestand.
