Without these two problems, we could have won 4-5. Jay Payton hit a huge grand slam for them in the 5th inning. We could still win this series with a win tomorrow.

Hmm...I'm liking this "dynasty". Lieber back to the Bronx. You got some interesting stuff here KC23. :)

Thanks a lot! I seen that trade proposal pop up and I was like, sure I'll take Lieber. I could use him if Mussina gets into any more trouble.

This "dynasty" is going to be a multi season thing, so it should be fun! GL with your dynasty as well Kazmir!

Today's game was a pitcher's duel between Rich Harden and Mike Mussina. Both pitchers went 8 innings each, Harden giving up 0 runs, Mussina giving up 1. Rich Harden held us to 2 hits, so we weren't able to help Mussina with the run support. I was very pleased with his pitching performance today. We are now 21-27 with the Angels coming into town.

Another 1 run loss...It was just a couple weeks ago we were in contention for first place. We're back into last place in the AL East. We have not been over .500 once this season. Now we're 8 games below that number. Kyle Farnsworth didn't pitch that bad. He got us out of a jam in the ninth inning, keeping the game going. In the 10th inning, he gave up a lead off single to Mark Kotsay. Jay Payton bunted, but did not advance Kotsay to second. Payton stole first, then Brian Stavisky hit a walk off double.

I'm really upset now. Mike Mussina pitched real well for us today, going 7 innings giving up 3 runs. We had a 5-3 lead and gave the ball to Chris Capuano. Some pickup he was, giving up 3 runs in his one inning of relief. I really have not been happy with the way he has been pitching for us. Now we're 9 games below .500, the worst we've been all year. We need to go on a big streak soon if we want to stay in the playoff hunt.

We lost all three games to the A's. It was another 1 run loss, those are the worse. Carl Pavano pitched well for us, throwing a complete game giving up only 2 runs. Unfortunatley, Rich Harden pitched just as well, going 8 innings giving up 1 run. We need to start scoring. Alex Rios came back today, so that should add more power to the lineup. He was the only Yankee to get a hit today, as he went 2-3. Jason Giambi's injury has really hurt us, as we lost a lot of power from him. Good thing we're leaving Oakland, it hasn't been too pretty here.

We lost 7-4 today. I think we played pretty well though. Robinson Cano and Hideki Matsui were both able to hit home runs off of Bartolo Colon. Jeter went 2-5 with an RBI. Johnny Damon and Alex Rios added on base hits. There were a total of 9 hits by us today, we just weren't able to score those runners. Randy didn't pitch too great, giving up 5 of the 7 runs driven in by the Angels. The other two runs were given up by Tyler Clippard.

Our offense is beginning to click again, and Alex Rodriguez hit his 13th home run of the season as well. A-Rod came up huge for us today! He went 3-5 with two clutch doubles and a monster home run. Hideki also tacked on 2 doubles. Andy Phillips and Alex Rios also hit big home runs for us. Without there homers, we wouldn't have won 8-6. Mike went 6 innings for us today, giving up 4 runs. Chris Capuano won the game in relief and Mariano picked up his 15th save of the season. Brad Lidge suffered his first loss of the season tonight. This could be the start of a hot streak for our lineup.

Carl Pavano hasn't been pitching well at all. If he does not pitch well in his next start, I'm going to move Matt DeSalvo into his spot in the starting rotation. Alex Rodriguez picked up another double today, his 14th of the season. Tyler Clippard pitched really well in relief, going 3 innings, giving up 1 run. He's starting to get used to the big league pressure.
