We lost another game by 1 run. However, this game was huge for us. Joba Chamberlain started and his fastball reached the speed of 103 miles per hour at one point. He only gave up 3 runs, but Andy Pettitte pitched well also. Andy went a complete game giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. We're traveling back to New York now with a 3 game series with the Cincinnati Reds.

Chien-Ming Wang isn't going to forget this day for a long time. This was probably his best outing as a Yankee in his career. Wang threw a complete game shut out giving up only 2 hits. He had a no-hitter going through the first 6 innings of the game, then Rob Stratton broke it up with a double. We won 7-0, so our offense was obviously on target tonight. If we keep winning like this, we'll be around at the end with Boston and Toronto.

We could have easily won today's game. We left way too many runners on base. If we were hitting like we have been, we could have scored 7 or 8 runs instead of leaving runners on base. It becomes frustrating to watch your team losing games that they could win. We've had at least 5 games in which we lost by a run. Well, we still have around 100 games to turn this slump around.

Mike Mussina pitched great again Throwing a 3-hitter through 8.1 innings. Jorge Posada had a huge three run homer in the 4th. An inning earlier, Johnny Damon hit a solo shot. That's how we scored all 4 of our runs today. This was another satisfying win for us. I could get used to winning games like this.

Carl Pavano lost another game. Don't be suprised if there is a change for his next start. He really has been struggling and has to get back into his normal form. Carlos Zambrano pitched lights out for the Cubs tonight, going 8 innings giving up 1 run. Pavano gave up 5 runs in 5 innings pitched. That's not going to cut it. We need help from our bullpen, either Jon Lieber or Matt DeSalvo. I'm leaning closer to DeSalvo though.

After a 2 hit shut out, Chien-Ming Wang follows up with an 8 inning performance giving up 1 run. He has obviously been our ace this season, with an 8-4 record with a 4.41 earned run average. Jorge Posada scored the third run on a ground ball to the shortstop. Ryan Shealy came in to score after a big leadoff triple. Hopefully, we can keep playing like this.

Jason Varitek was the big hero for the Red Sox today. He hit a 2 run homer in the 8th inning to give Boston a 5-7 win. It was strange though, cause Matt DeSalvo gave up 5 earned runs on 2 hits. In the 3rd inning he gave up 3 runs and was throwing a no hitter. He had a no hitter going into the 6th inning, when Boston scored 2 runs.

The first seven innings went smooth for Joba and us today, as the score was 1-2 in favor of Boston. In the top of the 8th, we scored a run to tie the game up. In the bottom half of the inning, it all began to fall apart. Boston scored 5 runs against us, 3 earned against Chamberlain. Capuano came in and a Derek Jeter error caused to more runs to score. They scored 5 runs in that inning and Boston won 2-7. It's beginning to seem as if we can only win every other day.

Chien-Ming Wang won again today, his third straight win. Wang and Mussina are keeping us in this race. If it weren't for them, we would probably be 20 games below .500 at this point. His only mistakes today were two solo home runs to David Ortiz, who has been injured most of the season. It was only his second and third homers of the 2007 season. Matsui had another good day, with a 2 run homer. He's in third now with batting average, at .342. We had a total of 10 hits today, so our offense was obviously alive today.

What a surprise! We can't win two straight games. I'm really upset now at our defense. We allowed 4 infield hits and Jeter had another error, his 11th of the year. He had 14 all of last year and we're not even at the All-Star Break. Now we're 12 games under .500. This hole may be too deep to dig out of.

This was even more embarrasing than the last series against Atlanta. We got swept and scored 1 run each game. Our pitching hasn't been to bad, but they have no control over our offense. Joba made me feel really good tonight, winning his first ever big league game. I think he's finally settled down and is ready to become an ace on this pitching staff. We need more wins like this and my job security should be a lot safer than it is now. Johnny Damon had a 4-4 game tonight. Every Yankee in the starting lineup had a hit besides Posada and Cano, who had an RBI. I wanna win two straight games, and hopefully, we could complete that tomorrow.

It's as if god is preventing us from winning two straight...Wang didn't pitch to bad for us, going 6 innings giving up 4 runs. We were able to stick around until the 8th inning in a 4-4 game. Tyler Clippard gave up 2 runs and we lost 6-4. We're 14 games below .500 now, and we're falling quick. We haven't won two staight games since June 9th and 10th, 20 days ago. We won the series thanks to a great performance by Randy Johnson. Today's game was a pitchers duel between Andrew Sonnanstine and Randy. Sonnanstine went 6 innings giving up 1 run unearned. There wasn't any scoring after that run as Randy Johnson went the distance giving up 0 runs. Could this be the game that turns our season around?

We got killed today. When I say killed, I mean it. Besides Angel Santos, every Indian had at least 2 hits. It was bad. We were able to score 4 but that was not enough. Today wasn't one of Mike Mussina's best days. Hopefully Matt DeSalvo could make up for it tomorrow.

Today was a huge win for us. I could tell after the game that it really boosted everyone's confidence. I might be taking Jorge out of the lineup until the All Star Break. He's only batting .155 right now. We need him to start hitting.
